Stop Motion-The End.

The easy bit about making the stop was editing it and making everything we needed to make the stop motion.

The hard bit was making the stop motion because it was kinda shaking too much.

I’m not that proud of it because it could be better, but it was good. Maybe if we made it not shake that much it would be much better.

Well the things I liked about making the stop motion is how the result was and making everything.

Bringing My Stop Motion Movie to Life: Designing Characters and Backgrounds

This week, we have been making our designs and backgrounds for our Stop Motion Movie using the Ibis Paint app and Real paper to make the stuff.

For the Movie, we needed to make backgrounds and other things. Since we’re making a Stop Motion about Plants we chose to do the life cycle of a Cherry Blossom Tree. We made a night and day background and also made the parts of the life cycle like the seed, small tree and others.

We used an app called Ibis Paint, but we mostly used real paper to draw everything.

I’m happy about how everything turned out. It looks so good. I loved the tree and the watering can.

Nothing was really that difficult. The watering can take me a while to make since it was pretty hard to cut it.

Kaitiakitanga – STEAM Week one Term 4

Kaitiakitanga means guardians of the land. And also it means to protect the land, ocean, animals and birds that live on Earth.

We protect the Earth so we have trees that help us to breathe, and make food for us humans and animals and water to help us survive.

We can show Kaitiaktanga by helping out to clean up, recycling items, avoiding fishing and hunting animals a lot, wasting less water, and not leaving your rubbish on the ground.

This week we learned about how we can help out Kaitiakitanga and how we can help the land, ocean and animals/insects that live on planet Earth. This is a brainstorm of what we and the dictionary think Kaitiakitanga means and how we can protect/help the land, animals and the ocean.

The Physical Characteristics of Insects

In Week 9, we’ve been learning about the body parts of insects. I know that there are four main parts of an insect. The Head, Thorax, Antenna and Abdomen.

1. Both the Cicada and Wētā share several similarities in their physical structure. They both possess antenna, thorax, legs, head, and abdomen. However, there are distinct differences between these two insects. The Cicada has wings and compound eyes, while the Wētā features an exoskeleton and spiracles.

2. I think that the way the differences affect the was the insect that lived, moved and defended themselves the Cicada had wings that let it fly to other places where it could live and the Wētā couldn’t fly which means it would take a longer time to find a place to live.

3. The insects that have similar characteristics to a Cicada may be grasshoppers anWētā mabe crickets.

4. The Cicada has got spiracles and I know that because I know that Cicada’s have 10 pairs of spiracles on their bodies.

Insect Roles in our world

In Steam, we’ve been learning about Insects and their roles in our world. The first way is that they help our world by pollinating. Moths, Ants, Wasps and Beetles are also helping to pollinate. The second way they help is by decomposing waste and organic matter. One of the hard-working decomposed is a dung beetle. Another way they help is by controlling the pest populations. Controlling pests helps keep populations in check which in turn protects gardens and farm crops. Next, they are an important food source. Did you know that beetles are the number 1 most favourite insects to eat? And finally, they are inspiring. Some insects have inspired artists.

3D Insect model

In Steam, we’ve been learning about Insect Life Cycles. We have also

been making our own 3D model of an insect we have chosen and had to

make a Life Cycle on Tinkercad. I did a Life Cycle of Seven Spotted

Ladybug. The Seven spotted Ladybug has 4 stages Egg, Larva, Pupae and

Adult.

Invasive Insects

Invasive insects pose a significant threat to ecosystems. Take, for instance,

the Common Wasp (Vespula vulgaris), an invasive species known to cause

problems for human health and beekeepers.

If you come across a wasp nest, it’s crucial to promptly eliminate it to prevent

further escalation. These wasps proliferate rapidly and have a particular

affinity for Honeydew in the higher regions of the South Island. They are

commonly found in shrublands, forested areas, and urban settings. Common

Wasps typically measure between 12mm and 17mm in length. Their original

colour is yellow, black and orange-brown.

Paris Olympics 2024

If you think this order is wrong, trust me it’s in order by how much gold medals they have. Sooooo… don’t blame me go on the internet.

So far, the United States is winning 24 gold, 31 silver, and 31 bronze with a total of 86 medals and the second is China with 22 gold, 21 silver, and 16 bronze with a total of 59 medals. New Zealand is in 13th place with 3 gold, 5 silver, and 1 bronze. Austria, Cape Verde, Egypt, Grenada, Indonesia, Iran, Portugal and Slovakia are in 69th place because they only have 1 bronze each. France is 4th with 13 gold, 16 silver and 19 bronze.
