This week in STEAM, we had a super cool activity where we became history detectives! 🕵️‍♀️🕵️‍♂️

In small groups, we were given a famous New Zealander to learn about. Some of us had Sir Edmund Hillary, the first man to climb Mount Everest! Others learned about Jean Batten, the amazing pilot who flew all the way across the world 🌍✈️. Some of us even explored the life of Ernest Rutherford, the scientist who helped discover atoms! ⚛️

In my group we had…..We worked together to find important dates in their lives – like when they were born, when they did something amazing, and when they changed the world. We put all our facts in order to make a giant timeline on a big sheet of paper. It was like building a story of their life!

We turned our paper timelines into awesome digital timelines on Canva. We added pictures, and fun colours to make them pop! 💻🎨

We learned:

• How to work as a team 🤝
• How to research important facts 🔍
• How to use digital tools like Canva 👩‍💻👨‍💻

It was fun learning about these brave and clever Kiwis. We think they would be proud of our timelines!

Hi my name is Adwika today i will tell you what Tui 4 did this Term .

This Term Tui 4 has been learning about Lynley Dodd and her books . Who is Lynley Dodd? Well Lynley Dodd is an author from New Zealand she has broke many world records for her amazing books.when did Lynley Dodd start writing books? Lynley Dodd started writing books in the early 1970’s . What is Lynley Dodd famous for? Lynley Dodd is famous  for being a New Zealand author and illustrator .Her books like hairy maclary and scar face claw are very famous .We all had each groups of 4 people and a character for each group. My group had Hairy Maclary . He is a black Scottish terrier . He is a play full dog filled with joy . We had make pictures to make it look like Hairy Maclary was next to us .We used Canva for our pictures. I got pictures of Hairy Maclary from safari and used Canva for background removal and the pictures.We took 3 photos of each person peyton , Juhi , Eleanor and me.we also had each person have lines to talk about our character and actions for the lines.

After that we sent all the photos to Isla and she made a video out of it . Then was our assembly I was absent for the assembly because I was sick for 5 straight days . On Tuesday after lunch i went home early because I got sick. On Friday was our tui whole school assembly. I was quite sad that I wasn’t here but it was okay. It was fun making the photos and practice with our friends about hairy maclary.

The movie 

my friend Olivia and I went to botany mall to watch a movie called Moana 2. We went with my dad ( Subash ) . We bought a large popcorn for me and my dad and  a small popcorn for Olivia . We went in to the theatre to watch the movie we were about five minutes late but it was alright. The movie was about where moana was talking about that she had to fix the heart of tīfiti or the entire island would be ruined. Then after the movie we went to time zone and played many  games like the basketball game the water game and we even splashed ourselves. It was so much fun!. Me and Olivia had about 9,600 tickets  but we thought we only had about 600 but we actually had 9,600 we chose items and went to the checkout and the manager told we had 9,000 more tickets!. We were in shock . So we bought millions of items and we could barely hold them so my dad gave us a bag to put all the  items in . Then we ate at  McDonald’s I got a double cheeseburger and Olivia got the same as me and my dad got from another restaurant called white waves? We ate at white waves . Lastly Olivia’s parents and siblings came to botany mall to pick her up. Then my dad and I arrived home at about 5:00 pm . Lastly I went to sleep at 11:00 for dance class. THE END.🦋🦋
