This week in STEAM we compared the difference between the Sea Turtle and a Shark or a Whale. We used a compare and contrast chart to write down all the things that we found out that were the same and the things that were different.
I chose a shark because there are many types of sharks and they have lots of interesting facts and compared this with the sea green turtle from week 4.
Here is my compare and contrast chart.
This week for steam we made brochures of a sea animal of our choice I chose a sea otter. We had to write about there habitat and there lifecycle there Appearance and some extra facts.
I chose a otter because they are cute and interesting they live in lots of different areas and have a different type of lifecycle.
In week three for STEAM we researched the different life cycle patterns observed in marine animals. We found that there are four main categories
‘During week 4 we looked at the life cycle of sea turtles. We chose a turtle to research from a choice of 7. I chose the green turtle . I chose this turtle because they are unique among sea turtles.
I found out about its habitat, the stages of its life cycle, threats, conservation efforts and any other fun facts.
We then created a fact file about the turtle.’
This week for STEAM we learned about the different ocean zones. I researched and created a labeled diagram of each zone. It had to include a description of the zones characteristics, pictures of the animals that live in each zone and a brief description of the zone. There are five different zones which include: the sunlight zone (epipelagic), the twilight zone (mesopelagic), the midnight zone (bathypelagic), the abyssal zone (abyssopelagic) and the hadal zone (trenches).
