1.) When was rugby introduced by NZ and by who?

NZ was introduced to rugby in 1870 by Charles Monro.

2.)When did NZ play their first rugby game?.

They played their first rugby game on May 17th 1870.

3.)When did Nz play their first international game? Did they win or lose! What was the score?

NZ played their first international game in 1893 but lost to the score of 6-8.

4.)When was the NZ team called All Blacks?

They were called the All Blacks on the year 1905.

5.)Name 3 of their best players ,but what are they known for?

Richie Mcaw = captain of All Blacks Jonah Lomu = speed power(wing side)

Colin Meads = tough compromising and always loyal when playing.

6.Why do the All Blacks perform the haka before each match?What does it mean and what do they perform it for?

They perform the haka because it shows the other team that they’re serious about the game and it means a fighting dance and war cry.

TERM 3 STEAM
In steam we had to do a project including what New Zealand has that makes it so special like kiwis and the birds that can’t fly! We needed a group of 4 but there were not enough people so it was just me Aisha and Nathuli.We had to use some websites or games to make the special things of NZ and we did Minecraft!

Minecraft is a virtual 3d game where I can do anything u want in there like building , Parkour , Role plays and lots more!

we tried doing the world on my iPad but it didn’t work so we used Aisha’s and it worked!,before we started building we decided which building we were going to do and birds.

This was my one! It’s really cute! I was doing rangitoto and I accidentally made it too big so I had to make it work out by doing only one side hehe. We built a forest ,the sky tower, some bats ,kiwis ,kakapo ,Kōtuku and tūīs! We called and at 8 every night and added/finished things.

As you can see I took a photo of the sky tower ,rangitoto , bat cave and the birds ( tūī kakapo) including the forest too,

this is the bat cave! It’s pretty dark but you can see a bat in front of the camera!

What does kaitiakitanga mean?

Kaitiakatanga means  guardians of the earth, Kaitiakatanga represents animals, birds, insects, including fresh water fish. Kaitiakatanga is a guardian meant to take care of land water and natural sources.

Kaitiakitanga helps us survive by giving us…land, oxygen ,water and food. It helps us survive so we have to help it by keeping the planet clean.

HOW TO HELP KEEP EARTH SAFE!:

• By throwing our rubbish in the bin to keep pollution from spreading across the whole world.
• The smoke from the factories are bad for us and the earth it affects the oxygen that’s why we try not experiment
• When we burn stuff it creates smoke like on time the burning a whole bunch and it went in our car and it did not smell good it smelled toxic

A cinquain poem is a poem with 5 lines ,the first line is one word which is the heading the second line has 2 word ,the 3rd one has not 3 but 4 lines which are describing it the the last line .has 1 word and that’s what a cinquain poem is.

                                What’s an acrostic poem?

An acrostic poem is a poem that has as many lines as you want but the thing is the beginning of the poem is all bold letters spelling a word the bold letters could be on the middle start or end. Then  you write the poem normally describing the word that’s a acrostic poem.

 

In STEAM we learned about life cycles and then we had to do a 3D lifecycle model of an insect. I chose the western black widow because their cool.Then we had to go on tinker-cad to make it

The life cycle of a western black widow is:First the mother lays the eggs then it creates an egg sack.After the spiderlings hatch and they grow into a baby spiders.The last step is that it grows into an adult spider and off it goes into the world.

A fun thing I learned was baby spider are called spiderlings!

In week 2 in STEAM we learned 5 ways that insects help our world.The first was that insects are a Important food source for bird mammals and reptile species.The second thing is grass hoppers and locust are very high in protein.The third thing is insects are really high in protein for humans.The forth thing is the insects help with the environment like dung beetles.The fifth thing is that 4th of the population of the has insects in their diets which is 2 billion people . Fun thing ,I learned that dung beetles help with plants and soil by planting the seeds deeper in the soil !
