S2-STEAM: Guardians of the EARTH Kaitiakitanga
Week 1: Water Cycle
The water cycle is a cycle about the process of water. The process of water is evaporation, condensation, and precipitation. The evaporation process is when the sun hits the surface of the water and then the water evaporates and goes up in steam. The condensation process is when the water vapour from the evaporation becomes liquid. The precipitation process is when the water gets too heavy and falls back as rain.
I want to learn more about the water cycle, plant cycle and life cycle. The life cycle is the cycle about life. The plant cycle is the cycle of how plant get life.
On Tuesdays session I learn facts about the different cycles. We also wrote what we know about the different types of cycles. We made a water cycle diagram of Lake Taupo and how it gets water. We weighed ice in jars then we let the ice melt and weighed them again.
Information Report- Stars
Stars
Introduction
Did you know that the sun is a star, and did you know the different types of stars? If you didn’t read the paragraph called “Types of stars.” Let’s talk about why we need stars, we need stars because they provide light for us at night.
Types of stars?
There are different types of stars, 17 different types of stars. There are so many different types of stars. Scientists classify stars by their temperature and the elements they absorb. The names of the stars are red dwarf, white dwarf, neutron star, black dwarfs, main sequence stars, red giants, giant star, super giants, protostar, T Tauri; star, black hole, double stars, pulsar, the sun, blue star and going super nova.
What are stars made of?
Stars are made of fire and extremely hot gas and stars give us light and heat. They are very very far away but we can still see them in the night sky. The sun is the hottest and the largest star in our solar system.
Why do we need stars?
We need stars because they make light and warmth. Stars are very important because they make life on Earth. The most important star in our solar system is the sun.
Conclusion
It is important we have stars because of what they do for us. I have told you about the sun and the different types of stars. I did the research by looking on google and searching up facts about stars and why we need them. I hope this information report gave you information you didn’t know before.
