Flowing along with the tides just dragging me, I sway my tail up and down with my favourite snack in my mouth, an immense old crab. I needed some time to myself after dealing with my friends. I continued gliding and swaying in peace until I felt a weird webby hard texture swooping me up. I feel I am suddenly getting raised up and up, till I was out of the ocean and floating in mid air, with the weird hard web around me.

Frantically moving and gasping around trying to claw out of the giant web I stopped to see…

A few large creatures with dissatisfaction on their faces until I looked around with my beady eyes to notice the creatures with the web in their claws. The creatures were quite extensive with hefty bushy hair on their faces going all the way to their shell. They also had weird antennas like one giant fluffy ball on the skull.

They lure me in until they have me in their claws, I quickly start moving my claws in a very uncoordinated way trying to capture them into my colossal sized claws with my sharpened spikes ready to claw them out.I finally lose my breath still trying to hold my stance to show who is more powerful, I hear the creature speaking in a outlandish voice.I quickly get chucked back into the ocean as if nothing ever even happened, although I wonder what that was about.

The Next Day.

Laughter and giggles were everywhere as we were just gliding through the waves until…

I felt that same weird webby texture and levitating feeling that I had felt yesterday. Slowly we all felt like we were getting levitated. I knew it was coming so I started getting defensive with my claws like a tiger’s teeth just sharpened and my stance like a lion ready to pounce on its prey.

My friends and family were shivering and very fidgety not staying still like it was the middle of winter,getting anxious looking around frantically side to side to try to get the just of what was happening.

We get lifted out and everyone is gasping trying to get back into the ocean. Everyone tries clawing their way out to try to get out of the webby cage. But I stay calm, controlling my breathing, taking one big breath at a time.

The same creatures speak that same outlandish voice with huge grins on their faces. They inspect each and everyone of us. Click Clack everyone gets chucked into different areas.

The weird creatures start raising me. I keep my stance not showing weakness until I grab the claws of the creatures biting down with full force until my brains explode. I look up at the creature they have an unsympathetic expression with their eyes just locked on. They grasp my tail and flip me. I start shaking and getting dizzy until I end up in the ocean with a huge SPLASH sound like plop and I’m back into the ocean. I go up to see if my family is coming down but the mechanism starts making a BA BA bahhhhh sound until it goes on and on.

I realise I’m the only one left; the creature took my family. Instead of sadness I feel like my head is turning red and fire is coming out of my antennas. I Don’t know how to feel.

It’s been a few days since that tragic incident and I have just been gliding, swimming and swishing around the bottom of the ocean trying to muster up courage to meet my family hoping they will not get captured.

I muster up the courage and go back to the surface where the incident happened to see if those abhorrent creatures were still there.

I push through the waves gliding up and up until I reach the surface. I look up and I see a different mechanism than the one that had captured my family.

The same webby cage started wrapping me into a microscopic cage. Instead of trying to claw like i always do I just accepted my fate thinking what is the point i am already empty inside without any of my friends and family around me. Like normal I start feeling like my body can’t control itself and I’m lifting up out of the ocean I end up floating in mid air until…

I get dragged in by different creatures than the one that had taken my friends and family. I get lured in and I am waiting to get chucked back into the ocean with a large splash but no…

I get chucked  into water with a large PLOP sound, but instead of swimming away to the bottom of the ocean where I can not be seen by these creatures, I can’t move. I don’t know where I am. I feel  trapped instead of free. I hear some ear splitting sounds.

I feel like I am getting moved with slight current waves. After an eternity I look up into seeing a large creature with small beady eyes with a slick clean head with no antennas.

I feel like getting raised into the trap, I continue looking into the creature till I feel like I’m getting poured out into A larger trap. I’m not sure how long until I can get out and get a grasp of what is happening or what is about to happen to me…

I start feeling like a humongous thing poking me in weird places. After a while I get the weird tingling feeling inside my shell. I try scratching but I can’t get this feeling out. After a while it finally stops. I feel so relieved that it is finally gone. I get lifted up into the same cage with huge amounts of other crayfish just like me. We start having little chats and all of them saying to me “ you don’t have long” over and over again. From every other crayfish.

I do the same thing in repeat with the same giant thing poking me giving me the same weird and itchy feeling that makes me lose control of my body, and everytime I go into the cage, less and less crayfish are in to chat with.

I started doing my normal routine until my body just gave out… I feel like my eyes are closing on it’s on and I can’t move.

what is happening….

Have you heard the word Kaitiakitanga? It means caring for our environment, and that is what our semester theme is. And these past two weeks we went to Tōtara Park and also went to the Botanic Gardens. So I will be telling you about what we learnt and how our mini scientific adventure went.

On a Tuesday a few weeks ago we found out our semester theme and were told the whole kāhu will be going to Tōtara Park ,to learn about how rain water and streams work. We were split up in classes and went on two trail walks to see all the different environments around us.

The teacher had told us to download an app called Seek, which helps identify which types of plants are from which family and what they are called. We had brought our device along with us to our learning adventure to make it easier to identify plants.

So in Week 2 on a  Tuesday we had left off to go to Tōtara Park to go on our trail walks, while we were walking there were lots of Trees and Mushrooms which we did not know the names of. So the Seek app had helped us to know which type of tree it was, so of the trees we had found were; Tōtara trees, Kowhai and trees in the dicot family which at the time I did not know what dicot was. 

But we were mainly there to see Puhinui stream and see how different it is in two places. 

In Tōtara Park the stream was mainly murky in most places because the day before it had rained heavily, so maybe that is why the stream water was mainly muddy. In most parts, what i had noticed was that when there were rocks the water was all clear so after the teacher told us that the rocks are in water, filter out the rain water from the streams and make it clean but when the mud gets to it turn in the muddy murky water again. 

But the stream in the Botanic Gardens was much more different than the  stream in Tōtara Park. In colour and filtration systems that I and many others learnt. 

But what I found really interesting in Tōtara Park was how they have so many different types of trees, plants and birds all in one place and it had left me with lots of questions that were answered in the trip to The Botanic Gardens.

After that we got back to school and went on with our day. Then we had launch  and all of us had many questions and someone had asked how do the trees multiply into such big bunches. And we learnt that trees that have seeds on the edges of the leaves, when they are ready they automatically plant them into the soil and if the rain is there it waters them which keeps creating more and more and more trees keep growing and when those seeds also drop it will plant more.

So the Next week we went to The Botanic Gardens which was to compare what we saw in the two places.

The Botanic Gardens trip was we were in groups with a adult to help us guide us in the places we had to task first of we had a scavenger hunt with the Seek app to try find every letter of the alphabet with the plants and flower around us and in the second half we went on a walk down to where the stream is to find out how it was different to the own we saw last week. Our team had gone on the hunt,first we found out where lots of flowers originate from and their scientific name and which had counted off lots of the letters of the alphabet. Our group had gotten lots of the letters except for lots of the rare letters which were quite hard to find. But we managed to do quite good compared to others. We also learnt where the flowers come from all over the world even if they are nearly gone.

In the next half we went on a trail right down to where the stream is, to see how the filtration system is different to Tōtara park’s filtration system. This time when we went down there were huge amounts of trees digging down to where the stream was.

Which is where we learnt why the trees were so sloped into the ground. It is because the roots of the trees near the water work as a type of filtration system for the water in the stream. And when the water goes near the tree’s roots and goes near the soil it filters through which somehow helps filter the water in the stream. 

After that we went back up away from the stream and found out how the rainwater works on the ground. First when it lands on the soil it can either go all the way down to the crust of the ground or it can just evaporate. But it could also just flow on top of the ground just to dry up.

After that we arrived back at school and I had tech that day so I could not do anything else. A few days after though we had a launch lesson where we talked about flowers and dicots but i did not know what those were so i asked then i learnt that dicots are a plant when they are seeded it can sprout in two parts or in one part. 

So in conclusion in those two weeks we had learned lots of things about our environment and how to be Kaitiakitanga for our environment and learnt how to protect it from bad things and learn how to not let those bad things happen to our freshwater streams and salt water. And to try to keep plastic out of our ocean and keep it in the bin to help our own environment. 

Introduction

Have you ever heard of the movie series The Hobbit or Lord Of The Rings? They were both directed by a NZ based director. Sir Peter Jackson has lots of achievements in the film industry.

This is a biography of Sir Peter Jackson of how he has become such a famous world wide director, also to show how he has got all of these achievements and how he became a director in the first place, to show what movies he got awards for.

Childhood

Sir Peter Jackson, was born on 31st of october 1961. He was born in Pukerua bay in Wellington, his mother was a house wife and his father was a factory worker.Sir Peter Jackson’s parents were migrants that came from England.Sir Peter Jackson was always keen on films, ever since he was a young child. When Sir Peter Jackson was a child some family friends had gifted  them a Super-S cine camera. Because Sir Peter Jackson was never really into sports, he spent most of his time inside making and doing stop motion. At age 9 he had made stop motion models, when he was doing stop motion he would remake some of his all time most favourite movies such as King Kong.

Sir Peter Jackson never really had any training doing stop motion directing or editing. So just by picking up new tricks through trial and error,and  just by making stop motion remakes of movies he was keen off. He learnt new tricks. And while he was learning new tricks he had gotten a new camera by his parents that was able to do so that he was with his other camera that his parents got him. So with that camera he got to learn more tricks like glitching the stop motion figures.

Inspiration of why he wanted to do what he is doing now.

Sir Peter Jackson was always into the film industry. But what truly inspired him was when he was a young adult he had come across a book author called J.R.R Tolkien after seeing an animation of one of the books Lord Of The Rings, after a few years Sir Peter Jackson knew what he wanted to become for the future and chose to become a director.

In an interview when Sir Peter Jackson had already became a director Sir Peter Jackson had recalled in his past he said that after watching curtain films it had given him a certain kick, and inspiration so after that it made it clear to him why he wanted to become a director, and show others that curtain kick he had got from watching films from his time and show newer generation that kick so it shows a real reason of why you want to do that job.

Other films he had directed and created.

Sir Peter Jackson has made lots of movies,before creating and directing 2 of his biggest hits The Hobbit and Lord Of The Rings. His first ever movie was called Splatstick.then another movie called bad take that had been released in 1987, and a movie called Brain dead that was released in 1992 that also had shared a nomination for best original screenplay award. And Jackson had lots of other films that had probably got main awards and Lord of the rings was nominated for best production award and more than 40 awards and more that 60 nominations throughout 2002-2003 and a bit of 2004. Meaning of when the films were released

Charity and other things.

In 2006 Sir Peter Jackson had donated more than 500,000 to a research organisation in Wellington. Also in 2012 Sir Peter Jackson supported the American white cross. Jackson had donated huge amounts of money to churches during New Zealand’s downfall and when they were losing,huge amounts of profit and he had saved them by donating and saving them from going bankrupt. He had also in 2011 purchased for Terraces, at the home of flute bats theatre, in Wellington that had fully secured the future of the theatre.Sir Peter Jackson has donated more that a million dollar to small children fund ration and donated to main things around areas that he had lived in and valued since he was young.

Achievements  that He has achieved  during making films.

Jackson has made lots of memorable achievements during these years of working in the film/movie industry. First he had over 28 awards that he had won and more than 30 nominations with most of his films. He has got more than 20 nominations alone on Lord of The Rings.

He was also knighted by Sir Anand for his huge contribution to the New Zealand kiwi Film industry, in 2009 Jackson had a net worth of about 3.5 million dollars in USD. And has two main film series that helped him grow even more, that were the Hobbit  and Lord Of The Rings. The Hobbit alone made more than 29 million dollars for only one movie. The hobbit for all three movies have made over a billion dollars together.

What is Sir Peter Jackson doing now.

Sir Peter Jackson is now making a brand new movie in collaboration with The Warner Brothers film, that is from another book for J.R.R Tolkien called The hunt for Gollum  and it is now due to release in maybe around mid 2026. But aside from the film industry he is now with his family of his children and wife in Los Angeles in the USA.

And Sir Peter Jackson is now 50+ and he is still working on films and doing stuff that involves charity and donating to small organisations to help kids. That are indeed of stuff and a home

Conclusion

Sir Peter Jackson had always been keen about the movie and film industry and had wanted to become a director since he was pretty young. And now he accomplished huge atchements and directed two of the biggest film series to exist. He is now continuing to make more movies, so now in conclusion Sir Peter Jackson had made lots of achievements in films and just living in general and has got people’s hearts so that is the end of Sir Peter Jackson’s biography.

I can tell that I have my kids get stories told

I get my book enoki tales with things that can be told.

I hope my kids like the stories about wind.

Tales and tales about hares and fairs.

The village fairs and hares were loud enough for them to be keys,

and  even about the animals as tall as the trees.

The book is thick, thicker than a cow.

While reading it feels like the book moves along with the story with lots wow.

The chicken chucks and the chicken clucks along the creeky road,

A long tale keep you asleep but also lets you read and let’s you get blowed to sleep like a toad.

The day i’m starting this talkabook

Tuesday the 6th of December 3059

Dear talkabook it , I finally reached earth but I’m still in the space ship. I can’t even remember how long it had been on the ship with this fat orange suit on. It has been so long I already miss Mars and my dog robo who is obviously a robot dog. Duh. 

Dear talkabook, I will keep on writing later on. They are doing a headcount and letting us out by our chair number. Our number is 368 so we are going to be in the last group getting called outtttt.

We are finally out after an eternity. We are in these things called cars or taxis. Also the air smells and feels so weird and disgusting. It is so creepy how the cars are on the ground. We always have ours in the sky so it definitely feels like one point to mars on that. But i have not come to earth since i was four so i dont remember a lot but it is hot out very unlike mars where it is freezing shiver me timbers so one point to earth. I will be logging off and talking to you again after I arrive. 

Dear talkabook, I just realised I haven’t told you where I am going. I am going to my Me maws or grandma. Well my Mum just said that we are only a few minutes away from meeting my grandma. I am really excited to meet her after all this time. I will tell here our whole trip how it was stinky and how every second we did a stupid headcount. I am super excited to meet here if you can tell.

Dear talkabook it has been a whole week since being with memaw Sorry I haven’t kept you all in touch but i just forgot because i was having so much fun memaw has been spoiling me so badly while my mum has just been watching me.  Like I said , I told memaw all my stories. I even exaggerated it a bit to sound super fun way more than it actually was.

Time is flying. I only have one week left on earth. We came here for a month and it flew by. I secretly cry at night thinking I have to leave earth and who knows when I’m going to come back. I want to spend lots of time with grandma so I might leave you guys on hold until I come back to the spaceship and bring you on log then and tell you all what had happened in this last week on earth and with memaw so peace out and talk to you later. 

Hope i do not cry for GOD’S sake.

Dear talkabook, I am sadly back in the spaceship we are getting ready to take off back to mars sadly. I already miss grandma but what can we do.Grandma told me lots of things that made me laugh but now it makes me cry everytime i think about her.

2024 kahu, it has only been one week but it has been one heck of a boring roller coster. Last week the first week of school we got into our classes and I got a pretty dang good teacher. On the first day everything was just doing tutorials of how it works in kahu and just setting up.

On the first workshop we applied for jobs which wasn’t that hard because I had already done it last year,I applied for three jobs which I can’t bother saying. On day 2 we had to do book standard which I finished on the same day and got marked. And the rest of the days just were even more boring doing things we already did last year, now I know how the year 9s felt. On Friday we had to do a writing test about our favourite time with our family. I wrote about when we went to an all you can eat restaurant, I finished it fast so it wasn’t that bad but I didn’t get to finish editing because the time ran out.

then the week ended and hopefully that rest will be a bit for amusing

Reha, why did you want us to come to this school event? Said Rena’s mum in a very confused look.

What is this event even about”. Said her dad in a very tired but baffled look. Mum, Dad it is what we’ve been doing for the past two terms and you are calling it boring,this is my work and the whole Kahu’s work. In a very annoyed but sad look like her parents don’t even care about her work.

 “Reha I am sorry but what is this? It is literally like people’s home made things made out of cardboard and clay showcased like this is some type of museum, said her mum in a very charismatic tone.

Mum please just look around and not make a fuss. Reha sounded very annoyed at her mum like she did even want to be here.

 “IS THAT HOW YOU TALK TO YOUR MOTHER” ‘ FUSS’ in a loud tone and a very angry expression thinking what did I raise.

“Oo food, Reha do I have to pay for these cookies”. Reha’s mum sounded very enthusiastic 

Mum no I have these TGS notes called beaks and we use these to buy everything at the gala unless you want to use your real money. Reha sounded so proud and like she did a big deal of being a role model to her parents 

 “NO, why would I want to use my precious money that I work so hard for, now to get me a cookie”“Me too”. 

One cookie for mum and one for Dad now I am 2 beaks down.” Come Reha, let’s walk around and see if there is more food”. Said her mum in a really happy tone

“Reha what is this” said her dad in a confused and excited tone 

dad it is a bee made out of clay this is what our group made and this is what Kahu 2 and 4 made. It is a planter box for veggies and about the Maramataka. 

“What is a Maramataka”? Said her mum and dad in a confused way there faces were really confused

 Mum Dad it is the moon phase of when you should go fishing and camping or whatever. Said Reha explaining to her parents even though she would know it wouldn’t make any sence to them

 “Ok is that all we can do now is eat dinner and watch India’s Got Talent”. Said her dad in such a rush

 NO not yet we still have so much to go and explore and buy. “Ok then lead that way but only one more hour”.

So Mum this is what the Tui (year ⅚)has made. I do not know what this is supposed to be and I do not know the explanation for this so just look and stay confused like me. Oh mum, look at this taco seasoning. When you make nachos or tacos it is already a made spice,but the spice might be a little less for us so we will need to add more to get it to our liking but, should I get it with my beak I want to spend them before they are useless. 

“Ok just get it and I will try this at home one day if we get time”.Now Reha is there anything else, or can we go.

Hello I am a student of TGS, this is to the bored of trustees and pri mister I am here to do a piece of writing why are hats and very annoying in summer. I hope you read this and think of telling of principle.

It is officially the worst when you have a hat but forget it at home! You have a hat but you don’t have it there it our mistake that we forgot it but can you government cut some slack for us children; we do only get a few minutes to play and the bored is trying to ruin that. We do only want to keep our body fit.

“Yawn,” another school day. Tired, but “Yay, what clothes should I —“

oh right… there’s a uniform. Oops, I left it on the bed. Great, now it fell. Wait, why am I commenting?

Hello, is someone recording me? Eh, lemme just brush my teeth and hope for a nice cold shower.

Okay, now my uniform is on! Let me do some skincare with my lotion and some other things done. Okay, packed everything!

“Mummy, let’s go I’m done breakfast.” I got to school, yayee, why does this place have so many stairs wait……

Why is there no children screaming or a basketball bouncing.OH MY I’m by myself why am I excited no no not going to do anything bad lemme put my bag away  is the school even unlocked wow it is the sewing meachines are out ooo thins is gone be fun lest go to to principles office and turn of the cameras should I just call mum and say it was a day of yes lest not be naughty like some other kids if they were not like me mum come pick me up why it was a day off sorry I did not know that

Garden School Mr Wong was growling at Alex and Danae for trying to steal his wallet to buy ice cream from the dairy. They went outside for a talk and saw a tree near the caretaker’s shed, they went closer and saw a bottle next to the tree. With curiosity they climbed the tree and all had a sip of the liquid they ended up in a bitterly cold and gloomy cave with some glow worms on top, they realised they had gradually shrunk every second a not fell from the sky landing gradually softly on Danae’s palm she read out loud “ hello my victims you have entered the treacherous maze you may have noticed your have shrunk and you’re  small as tiny little ants this maze has three realms you have to complete to be normal again don’t DIE, good luck. 

Mr Wong said “let’s get a move on we don’t want to stay here” Alex started his moaning by saying “ I’m so lazy like a sloth I don’t want to move can one of your please pick me up” all said no so he had to suck it up and just walk. They found Jayde sitting on a rock playing the cello and a note on her lap. They asked if they could take it and she said yes they took the note.

Alex asked if he could read it. They said yes because we would not stop asking “ do you really think it would be that easy your still have lots more maybe should cover your head for this next one it will hurt bye. They walked in all they saw were mushrooms shaped like mini trampolines all over the cave, they didn’t want to get a concussion from the mushrooms but they had no choice to just start bouncing on the mushrooms, up and down all around jumping like Kangaroos and flying like a birds hitting heads, finally hey reached the end they saw a girl pounding a poor rock it looks like taylor and she has a note Mr Wong got the note and said “ congrats you have reached the final realm I have got a gift for you a farting Erica holding a Chanel bag.

They didn’t read the rest and just made a “ big mistake” . They found there were many deadly shaped spikes on the wall that could tear through them in one go. They had to bend down for a whole hour trying to avoid ten spikes. It was limbo but  more deadly after a few hours they made it. They saw a giant boxing hand and they went in front and BANG.

It was all Mrs Davies’ plan.
