Have you ever gone to swimming lessons for free? Well, I have in fact I went this week with my class! We learnt so many cool things. I even met my old couch three years ago. What a coincidence. I will tell you all about my day at swimming and what happened in the bus hehe.

On Wednesday it was our first lesson of swimming class, which was pretty late but all of us were still excited when it was time for us to go. Everyone was so excited and was screaming. Our bus was a little late for us, but it came a few minutes later. We hopped into the bus or you could say van. The whole van was singing Wheels On The Bus. I was laughing so hard cause it sounded so bad we when the song ended we arrived at the Manurewa Leisure Centre , the door opened and we rushed out like we were stuck in there for years. The other Piwakawaka were still not done with their lesson so the girls and boys went into the changing rooms. I was really uncomfortable in my togs when we all came out the class was done so it was time for us to go in.

 We went in from the side and sat down at the edge of the pool. It was nice and warm. We had to sit down so the couches could teach us how to go into the pool safely and not get hurt. They handed out goggles to people who didn’t have them. I was one of them. We turned on our side and put our hand on the edge and turned into the pool slowly. We put our backs against the wall and we needed to do some swimming so the couches could put us in groups. I got put in group one where they showed us how put kicks should be. MY COUCH WAS MY COUCH FROM THREE YEARS AGO it was so weird but I didn’t remember his name but I remember his face his name was Lyle like Kyle but with a L.

First we started of kicking there was a bar beside us and we helped that and we were kicking my legs got tired but I kept going then Lyle told up to get up and he said we would hold our legs and change the flow of how it should be he told me to put more force in mine then we saw and he said that is better put more force just the others put to much force I was teh opposite. Then after that we walked in the water with our hands on our head I thought it would be easy but it was not it was way harder than it looked I still came first and in no time the class what finished we went back to our changing rooms and the showers were on so we had a mini shower we went in the bus and I fell asleep fast and lots of other people to.

Ok now let’s talk about the bus driver. The old one was really strict and didn’t even let us play games and talk. It kept me quiet at all times. But this driver was a little nicer it let us talk and play hand games but when we were coming back so many people were screaming and the weren’t even listening to Mr Wong the bus driver yelled at us to be quiet and listen to out teacher then we came back to school my friend woke me up from the sleep but I still heard everything but I didn’t open my eyes just in case I will get in trouble .

So overall Swimming was very fun but we still have lots more days to go we learnt so much stuff and had so much fun and I am really glad I got to go and if you get a opportunity to go swimming for free you should do it you would definitely not regret so yes overall it was great and my excited for my next lessons.
