There are lots of Maori beliefs from centuries ago, that some people think are real and fake but no one knows if they are real. Lots of parents read these beliefs when their children were little. I chose this because at out school it bis Māori language week.
There is one specific Maori belief that always catches my attention: that belief is the Fire Queen. It is believable but not so at the same time it is not so much. The queen has fire on all of her fingers and toe nails all together 10 small fires on each of her nails, her hair in the shape of fire the same colours she had a fire tattoo on her chin, bright red flaming lips ,red bold eyes and big bushy eyebrows.
Soon Māui came to the Fire women every day to ask her if he could borrow the fire the fire women said yes because she didn’t know what he was doing with them, when Māui took the fires of her nails of he would go the the river and drops the fire one by one and drops the fires in when the Fire Queen found out she was furious so when he asked for the last fire she had she said no and the one fire was enough for everyone.
Overall there are lots of good beliefs but this one is my favourite cause it shows kindness and rudeness.
