What it is:
Kaitiakitanga means “Guardians of the Earth”. Māori people believe that there is a deep kinship between humans and nature. They believe that we should take care of our environment. One reason is that trees produce oxygen to breathe. Another is that we need to keep water clean and safe so we can stay hydrated. Those are some reasons why, so take care!
How to show Kaitiakitanga:
1: Use and dispose of harmful materials properly. 2: Don’t dump waste in rivers, lakes, and oceans. 3: Don’t overuse fertilisers.
4: Join a beach, stream, or wetland cleanup team. 5: Don’t litter, especially these items: Motor oil, Pesticides, Leftover paints or paint cans, Mothballs, Flea collars, Household cleaners, and a number of medicines.
What could be some factors that can cause extreme weather?
Global Warming could melt glaciers and rise the sea level, then all the extra water could evaporate and form rain clouds. The rain clouds would rain and rain then cause a flood.
Could you relate it to the Water Cycle?
A flood could be related to the Water Cycle by when the water is evaporated and formed into a rain cloud, then when the cloud lets out rain.

Here is a comic strip of my life as a Raindrop to help you understand better how it works.
What do I know about The Water Cycle: The main parts of The Water Cycle are: Collection, Evaporation, Condensation, and Precipitation.
What do I want to learn about The Water Cycle and Cycles in Nature: What is The Plant Cycle? What is The Rock Cycle? What is The Life Cycle?
What did I do on Tuesday’s session: We got into groups and each had a jar of ice, then we wondered if the ice would change weight if we melted it. Then we melted the ice, and it did change weight!
