‘Mum, what’s kindness?” A little girl said while I was eating my sausage sandwich at the park that I definitely don’t go to every day of my life because I’m alone. “Well honey, kindness is something, hopefully all of us have and it can be spread around in all different ways” the mum said. “So it’s like a virus?” The little girl replied. I honestly kind of started laughing in my mind but don’t worry the mum started laughing too so I didn’t do anything bad, did I?
The mum called me over and since they were talking about kindness. I decided to be kind to her and asked, “Hello, How’s your day going?” And then the mum turned to her daughter and said, “see honey, that’s kindness. Asking someone how their day is going is very kind and polite”
So then I turned to the little girl and asked her how her day was going and she said “It’s going good, weirdo, how’s your day going?” And I just looked at her with a puzzled look, then the mother said, “ANGELA MARRIE, calling someone names is not polite, nor kind so please apologise!!”
“Mum, this lady comes here everyday of her life and never does anything except sit on the same bench and contemplate life while eating a sausage sandwich, like who does that? Bet that bench has a dent of her butt in it”. And then they waddled away and I never saw them again but I could help think, “I just got called a weirdo by a seven year old”
