Kaitiakitanga – STEAM Week one Term 4

What is Kaitiakitanga

 

 Kaitiakitanga is Māori for Guardian of the nature.

We have been learning about how to be Kaitiakitanga, for example we got into groups and made posters a out what we were learning in term 1 and 2.

It is Important to the Māori culture because to be a Kaitiakitanga because it mean to protect the nature they love in.

Cinquain Poem

How to write a Cinquain poem.

To write a Cinquain poem you need to have a great vocabulary so you can find specific words to match the theme of your poem.

1 type of Cinquain poem is a didactic. A didactic poem has a specific number of words on each line it goes 1-2-3-4-1.
the first and last words in poem has to be synonyms.

Acrostic poem.

How to make an Acrostic poem.

To make an Acrostic poem you need to have a theme word to base the poem on.

You write one letter of the word on every line (In order), then you have to make a sentence with the theme of you word on every line, With the first words first letter starting with the letter of the theme word and so on.

My Acrostic poem.

Flaming sparks in the sky
Incredible shapes all around
Red flashes in the sky
Explosions ring in my ears
Wonderfull patterns in the sky
Overexcited kids run around screaming
Rocket flashing in the darkness
Kittens hiding in fear of the loud bangs
