The Olympics is a huge worldwide  sports competition. The Olympics takes place every four years in a different location. In 2020 it was held in Tokyo. Tokyo Winter olympics started on 23 July 2021, as it was postponed due to COVID 19. New Zealand participated in many events and won 20 medals: seven gold, six silver and seven bronze! Paris 2024 olympics started on the 27th of July. The olympics hold many events such as rowing, synchronised swimming, rugby, soccer, athletics and more. So far in the 2024 New Zealand hopes to continue to win more medals as the USA has won 86 Medals! (As of the 7th of August) Following in second place is China with 59 medals! Lurking behind China is France with 48 medals. Runner up countries such as Australia and Great Britain seek a place on the podium. The 2024 olympics opening ceremony was filled with Olympic champions, eager countries waving their flags, dancers, acrobats and more! Many important speeches are given. The next day, the games begin! Athletes train from the rough track to cool swimming pools. The closing ceremony is yet to come, but it is sure to be amazing. There is a lot events yet to come.
