In STEM week 4 we learned about funnel questions and open end questions
So this is what we wrote 🙂
this is my example of a funnel question what can we do to protect the environment and the oceans?

A acrostic poem is a poem that you write a word of your choice and then you write words to do with the first word you chose.
In week 9 I made a Kaitiaki plede for the ocean I wrote I promise to help the environment by walking when ever I can instead of driving.
and I will buy less toys.
‘This week for STEAM we learned about the different ocean zones. I researched and created a labelled diagram of each zone. It had to include a description of the zone’s characteristics, pictures of the animals that live in each zone and a brief description of the zone. There are 5 different zones which include: the sunlight zone (epipelagic), the twilight zone (mesopelagic), the midnight zone (bathypelagic), the abyssal zone (abyssopelagic) and the hadal zone (trenches)’.
‘During week 4 we looked at the life cycle of sea turtles. We chose a turtle to research from a choice of 7. I chose the green sea turtle. I chose this turtle because they looked the best.I found out about its habitat, the stages of its life cycle, threats, conservation efforts and any other fun facts.
We then created a fact file about the turtle.’
In week there for STEAM we researched the different life cycle patterns observed in marine animals. We found that there are four main categories
Oviparous- producing young by means of eggs which are hatched after they have been laid by the parent.
Viviparous- give birth to live young
Ovoviviparous- once the egg hatches it remains inside the mother for a period of time.
Metamorphosis-change of physical form, structure of substance.
K-I know that many sea animals live in the ocean. These are the animals that live in the sea starfish, blob fish, sharks, cat fish, Axolotl and much more.
W-I would like to learn about the sea animals that were extinct and why were they.
My 1 questions that I’m gonna ask the marine biologist
when were the Megalodon around and when did they get extinct.
