Lynley Dodd

This Term we learned about Lynley Dodd.

We each had a group of four 4️⃣ and we had to say and do actions for a small poem.

My group had Olivia, Cassandra, Isla and I.

My group had to do  a little poem about Zachary Quack, Isla and Olivia read the poem and Cassandra and I did the actions ( we created the actions from scratch)

The little poem Olivia and Isla read was: And who’s this small friend with a splash and a quack? It’s Zachary Quack who never looks back, a duckling so tiny with feathers so bright. Splashing and dashing with all of his might.

We did not create this poem, our lovely teacher Mrs. Barroman made it from AI.

The whole of Tui 4 had a group to work with.

We learned a lot this term!

Now, let’s give you some facts about Lynley Dodd.
Lynley Dodd is a famous writer ✍🏻 and illustrator.

She wrote and illustrated the books 📚: Zachary Quack 🐥, Hairy Maclary 🐕, Scarface Claw 🐈‍⬛, Slinky Malinki 🐈 and much more!

She was born on the 5th of July 1941 and is still alive to this day. Lynley Dodd is now 84 years old.

These are some photos of my group

Our NZ minecraft world

For Weeks 3&4, Olivia, Cassandra, Isla and I created a new Minecraft world in hopes of recreating New Zealand’s most famous landmarks, animals, and fauna on a digital platform. This is the end result.

What NZ identity features did we include?

We included The Okahune Carrot, The Beehive, Giant Lemon & Paeroa Bottle, and The Skytower. We also built many kinds of birds and trees.

What did I learn about Aotearoa during this project?

That our country is very special and and unique in its own way.

What digital skills did I use?

We used Minecraft to create a digital world that showcases the structures, plants, and animals of Aotearoa, New Zealand.

What would I do differently next time?

We would definitely create more sizable structures with more detail, and focus more on the landscape and positioning of everything.

How well did we work together?

We worked really good together especially because I just moved to tūī 4.

Rugby Rules

This poster was created by me using a Canva platform. This has been in aid To continue working on and improving my digital skills.

What I love about Canva is that you can choose different templates and use different elements which are basically stickers that are graphics or photos videos or audios.

what challenges me in Canva is finding the right stickers to put on my template otherwise I probably don’t have a challenge on Canva.

My Winter Break

In my winter break I went to Queenstown. On Wednesday we got in the plane and got ready to lift off. When we were about to land the pilot said we have to go back to Auckland because there was a lot of crosswind so we tried again on Thursday and we arrived safely.
We went to coronet peak to sled 🛷 and to play with snow

For breakfast we had a buffet and I always got pancakes 🥞 and croissants 🥐.

We also fed ducks 🦆 on the beach 🏝️. We roasted marshmallows by the fire 🔥.We went swimming 🏊‍♀️ in the pool 🏊‍♀️. My favourite part was when we went to a cookie 🍪 time 🕑 shop. I loved 🥰 the gondola 🚠. I had a huge candy floss. I loved my Winter Break ♥️
