The Science Fair
Moments later, I found myself outside of my old school. The memories it brought back to my head couldn’t leave. After all… The explosion that happened wouldn’t leave and it trapped me like I was a display for the Auckland Museum. “Hello! Pleased to see you. The Science Fair is up the stairs in front of you” The office lady said. “Ah, I see. Thank you, Lee,” I said. She stared at me confused. “Have we met before?” She asked while I let out a laugh and chuckled while walking up, of course, she forgot about me. Everyone did. “Oh hello, this is the Science Fair. You must be the Scientist coming to give the students some suggestions right?” My old teacher said, “Yes indeed. I also wanted to see how you were doing Mrs Davies”. I’m not surprised she looked at me confused. “Oh, yes. The kids will be coming in any moment now,” She exclaimed. Her smile… It was the similar old cheeky smile I knew.
“Hello everyone! I’m Ha Lan. Your teachers might have informed you that I was the Scientist coming in today. I would love to see what you guys have built.” “Ha Lan, can you come to see my experiment please?” One kid said. “Mine next!” another one said until they all gathered around me. Eventually, I finished giving them all tips and looking at everything. I adored the Magnetic fishing and the Silent Auction but it was quite expensive for a house. “I am so pleased to see all of your incredible work, kids! Now you guys know what to write for your blogs. I’ll be going now” That was a handful of kids. My memories there… Why are they appearing, even more, all of a sudden? Is my brain trying to make me unsatisfied with the problem that happened over a decade ago? Gosh, this is so tiring, get out of my head!
Why is he here? Didn’t he die from the incident that happened? “I said I was sorry,” I said. “I saw you at the fair in the Volcano section and I saw your nametag so I decided to call you. Why didn’t you pick up?” He said. “I was too busy looking at the Volcanoes and the Survival camping kit,” “I enjoyed the clay and the insulated houses more,” he replied. “Uh, about the incident, it’s okay. I didn’t get bad burns, besides, you spilt the candles on accident and the school got rebuilt thanks to your massive fire” he chuckled. This man is getting on my nerves. “Thanks for visiting me at the hospital, the last thing I remembered was I crashed my car,” “Yeah, it was me you crashed into. Goodnight Ha Lan.”
