Unusual Nightmare
They’re an invertebrate, they have no bones but at least they’re pretty! It’s a Monarch Butterfly, colourful and delicate, beautiful and bright. But not everything is colourful, delicate, beautiful and bright… Normally butterflies have delightful dreams, they would be flying rapidly past rainbow clouds, through a field of Milkweeds and the greatest of them all, Swan plants! It was until a tiny little Monarch Butterfly that had an unusual nightmare, specifically a nightmare about her milkweed field dying and her swan plants burning in flames.
The night before Christmas, Mona the Monarch Butterfly was getting ready for bed! She tucked in her wings and snuggled into bed. A few minutes later she was awoken by loud scorching flames and the heat spiking up by 1100°C almost burning Mona’s house down. She quickly rushed out and flew away; she was so shocked by what was happening that she could barely breathe. From far away, she saw that her house and the whole forest was in flames. She flew even further trying to avoid the forest fire so that she could sleep and hopefully warn the rest of her friends and family in the morning. Somehow her wings stopped working and she was slowly drifting away into the ginormous fire.
When she wakes up again, she finds herself lying in bed, unharmed and just fine. She rushed outside flying away to awaken her friends and family. They are all confused and are questioning Mona about what happened in her sleep. Turns out that it was all just an unusual nightmare! But Mona was scared of ever sleeping again so from that day her family brought her to a special Butterfly therapist hoping that her unusual nightmare would never come again.
