Tessellation art/Geometry art

Tessellation is a reflection of a shape or something that will be perfectly identical when you cut it in half, but what is Tessellation art? Tessellation art is when you can create illusions and patterns using tessellation. It’s like stacking shapes to make a pattern that will keep repeating. 

We did tessellation for maths and art, because it was maths week however the teachers decided to do something fun for maths. Half the Piwakawaka students went to tree planting so the other half did some art! We made really cool colourful art using tessellation, some of us made illusions too! Some were particularly simple and some were quite complicated, they were all colourful. It felt as if you were in rainbow land even though you’re in the real world.

I really like my friend’s art, it was colourful and cute! She drew fish with pretty colours using water colour. It was very rainbow themed but it still looked nice, her fish had gills which was a nice detail to make not so simple.

I feel like I could’ve done better but I had to finish it by the next day. It was amazing and really fun. I would definitely do it again although it was challenging trying to finish it by the next day.
