What is “Guardians of the Earth?”, there are a lot of ways to explain. The main idea is about environmental protection, the state of the environment, and the changes. Some other examples is protecting biodiversity, fighting climate change, and looking after our land. In many different cultures, guardians of the earth is an important principle. The Māori culture, for instance they hold the concept of kaitiakitanga. Kaitiakitanga describes a very deep responsibility to take care and protect the earth and animals as guardians and custodians. “Guardians of the Earth” is also a way of educating people, about sustainability and environmental activism. Encouraging people to become guardians in their own lives.
Athletics Poem.
Tawas on the track leading the pack, no looking back.
Kowhais on the field starting to yield, trying to use their smiles
as a shield.
Kauris being loud they ain’t leading the crowd, is that making them proud?
Rimu might have won, but next year hasn’t begun.
Athletics just makes my genetics to cool and fun.
We all be cheering, and some little kids I be hearing,
Several hours we have a good time, several hours I’m just thinking of a rhyme.
Who will win? who will lose? who will go and find a golden goose?
When the day is over, we all don’t wanna play, after these races because we pray, pray, pray.
House assemblies / advertise
House assemblies! Do you know what house assemblies are?
Let me explain, house assemblies are always on Monday because
that’s when we have assemblies.. house assemblies are on house
day and on house day we dress up on our house colours.
There are 4 house colours Tawa (the best house) which is blue,
Rimu is red, Kowhai yellow, and Kauri is green. We all compete to see which house has the most points on cross country, athletics day and much more. Anyway house assemblies are just little meetings with your house you play games, chant and talk about upcoming events that we’re gonna win. So that is what house assemblies are.

Anzac Poem.
We gather here on this special day,
to honour all our soldiers who passed away.
Who fought a tough battle for us to be here,
who sacrificed their lives so we would not fear.
We will never forget this memorial day,
these soldiers names will never fade away.
On this solemn day, we stand side by side,
their names in our hearts, an eternal guide.
Anzac day, a day to cheer and say,
thank you to the hero’s in every way.
A time to thank, soldiers who fought true and frank.
With heads bowed down, we take a minute,
for the freedom they gave were all in it.
Ina’rangi’s Poem
The story’s at camp that I wish they won’t tell,
are stuck in my head like Mary go rounds.
They go round and round and haunt me in my sleep,
Just leave me alone, I yell, I scream.
They say dolls’ dead eyes stare,
creeping nearer, chilling the air.
Their silent approach, freezing fear in their wake.
Camp, like a lantern in the night,Guiding us through
darkness with its light.
A refuge, a haven, a flame burning bright,
Where memories flicker, like stars taking flight.
I love camp like a sanctuary in the wilderness,
where every moment is an adventure waiting to unfold.
I love camp, I blabber about!
I love dem marshmallows,
but only the white ones.
I love dem they taste so good,
They melt in my mouth, I knew they would.
In fluffy clouds of sugar’s delight,
Marshmallows dance, a sweet sight.
Soft and squishy, they melt just right,
In my mouth, a cozy bite.
Polyfest
Last week Wednesday was real fun,
That was the day we went to Polyfest a festival that has stages that show you other people’s culture and traditions.
I’ll tell you how my day went, so first
of course we had to be early so I came to school at 8:10.
At about 8:20 we went inside the hall to get into our groups,
I was with Mr’s Barrowman.
After that we went into the bus, I went into the first bus and I was at the window!
After like when we were at the first stage and it was so fun, but my favourite stages were the Māori stage and diversity stage.
The diversity stage is the stage we watched second, it was really cool we saw 1 Chinese group, 3 Indian groups and one Tongan group.
Also even one of the groups had people that were once students at our school!
Now we are at our last stage, we’re at the Māori stage!
We watched this one group they were doing a Haka, me and my friends
couldn’t quite hear them but it was cool anyway.
After the Māori stage we went back to where we went to the stage we went to first, we did some finishing stuff and then we went on the bus to go back to school.
It was like 30 minutes until school was over so we decided to play games outside and, it was a fun day! I think the year 7 and 8’s should compete at Polyfest because it will be fun, filled with memories and a good experience.

The Night Sky.
The night sky.
As dark as misery’s woeful night
Like a a blanket with stars
layed down over the sky.
Peaceful like a baby asleep,
I could stay up all night staring.
It’s a beautiful thing with rocks and rings,
and as the stars peeked behind the dark clouds
I smiled and went into a deep gaze.
The earth dances all the way,
I love it when the day goes away
I love the night what can I say.
Shines like a newly lit fire,
Behind the dark clouds is where
the moon is hidden.
Dark is the absence of light.
