Pearl and Jade’s Adventure.

Intro

Once upon a time there was a mermaid called pearlina but we called her pearl. She was the ruler of Atlantica and her best was ruler of Dreamland. Pearl’s best friend was a Phoenix, her name was Jade, Jade had ice powers and pearl had crystal power.

Tomorrow is Jade’s birthday party, Pearl wanted to make Jade some crystals. But she knew that wasn’t enough so pearl went too beach land to look for seashells, because Jade loves seashells But when pearl grabbed the first seashell. The goblin king’s minions. Who were working with humans grabbed pearl.

Jade saw pearl yelling in distress so Jade went to the goblins king’s minion’s and used all of her power to try get pearl back. But sadly Jade had failed. The goblin king’s took pearl to a secret place.

While Jade was in the forest looking to make her ice power more powerful to get Pearl back. She found a cute phoenix standing there. Jade went up to him and  said “Hello” the phoenix replied “hi” Jade said “My name is Jade” the phoenix replied “I’m Alex” Jade asked Alex “Do you know the way to get more powerful” Alex said “Try the super duper mushroom, why?” Jade replied “ My friend is trapped with the evil goblin king” Alex said “ WOW, that is a bit of a pickle” he said with surprise “I will help you rescue your friend” Alex added

“Let’s go find the super duper mushroom” said Jade. But pearl wasn’t doing as well as Jade, the goblin’s trapped her in a dungeon. Jade and Alex was flying the goblin king’s dungeon. Pearl saw Jade and yelled “Jade” Pearl said angrily. “Why did you leave the minute you saw me?” “I went into the forest to find something to make me more powerful” Jade said “and I met Alex” Jade added “oh,ok”  said pearl calming down.

While  Jade and Alex was in the forest they found the super duper mushroom so Jade use the mushroom to get pearl out of the dungeon . Jade used her ice power to freeze the goblin king’s minions. Alex, Pearl and Jade escaped the goblin king’s dungeon.

But out of nowhere the goblin king jump out in front of pearl. Pearl used her crystal powers to defend herself a great pink blast came out. And knocked the goblin king to death. A couple years later Alex proposed to Jade and Jade happily said “YES!!” A month later they got married and Pearl was the maid of honour.

2 years later Jade and Alex had a baby they named the baby Claire which means bright, clear and famous. The E-  but wait the not the End. Claire was a beautiful baby phoenix. When Claire growed  up she became a famous solo singer.

A: NZ played their first game on may 1870.

3. When did NZ play their first international game? Did they win or lose? What was the score?

A: NZ played their first international game in 1893, but lost , the score was 6-8

4. When was the NZ team called the All Blacks? Why are they know as the All Blacks? 

A: The NZ rugby team found the name AllBlacks in 1893 but before that they were the New Zealand Māori. They got their name by the uniforms because their uniforms were the “Blackest of the black”

Name three of the best players, what are they  known for?

A: Richie McCaw holds the world record for test Appearances. Jonah Tali Lomu he is the top player in 1995 Rugby World Cup. Colin Meads greatest player to ever take the field by many people.

why do the All Blacks perform the haka before each match? What does it mean and what do they perform it for?

A: They do the haka before each match because it lets the other team know they’re serious and are bringing their all!!

Ernest Rutherford-The Triatomic Molecules

This week in STEAM, we had a super cool activity where we became history detectives! 🕵️‍♀️🕵️‍♂️

In small groups, we were given a famous New Zealander to learn about. Some of us had Sir Edmund Hillary, the first man to climb Mount Everest! Others learned about Jean Batten, the amazing pilot who flew all the way across the world 🌍✈️. Some of us even explored the life of Ernest Rutherford, the scientist who helped discover atoms! ⚛️

In my group we had Cassandra,Olivia and I ,we worked together to find important dates in their lives – like when they were born, when they did something amazing, and when they changed the world. We put all our facts in order to make a giant timeline on a big sheet of paper. It was like building a story of their life!

We turned our paper timelines into awesome digital timelines on Canva. We added pictures, and fun colours to make them pop! 💻🎨

We learned:

  • How to work as a team 🤝
  • How to make sure the facts are true and not false👍🏻
  • How to use digital tools like Canva 👩‍💻👨‍💻

It was fun learning about these brave and clever Kiwis. We think they would be proud of our timelines!

Our kiwi world

For Weeks 3&4 , Olivia,Cassie ,Giada and me created a new Minecraft world in hopes of recreating New Zealand’s most famous landmarks, animals, and fauna on a digital platform. This is the end result.

What NZ identity features did we include?

We included The Okahune Carrot, The Beehive, Giant Lemon & Paeroa Bottle, and The Skytower. We also built many kinds of birds and trees.

What did I learn about Aotearoa during this project?

I learned that New Zealand has lots of famous places that I did not know about.

What digital skills did I use?

We used Minecraft to create a digital world that showcases the structures, plants, and animals of Aotearoa, New Zealand.

What would I do differently next time?

We would definitely create more sizable structures with more detail, and focus more on the landscape and positioning of everything.

 

How well did we work together?

I feel like we worked together really well especially we had Giada join our group halfway through the project.

What do I know about the water cycle.

In the water cycle there are 4 main steps (evaporation, condensation, precipitation and collection)

Term 1-Information Report Writing-The Solar System

The Solar System

Introduction

How big is the moon? the moon is about 2,159 miles. You need to read this information report because we are living in the solar system. In this information report you will learning all about the moon , fun facts about planets and you will be learning about Saturn’s ring.

Planets

There are 8 planet in the solar system. Neptune is the coldest planet in the solar system . Neptune is also the windiest planet and it takes 165 years to do one full orbit around the sun. Mercury is the closest to the sun , the temperature of Mercury is about 750 c.

Moon

The moon is our sun in night time . The moon colours are white , grey and different shades of grey . The moon is about 384,400 km from earth . The first person on the moon was Neil Armstrong on 21st July 1969. Neil Armstrong was an American astronaut.

Saturn’s ring

Saturn is the sixth planet from the sun. Saturn’s ring is not solid it is made of chunks of water and ice. Saturn’s ring is about 175,000 miles.

In this photo, you can clearly see Saturns rings of water and ice.

Conclusion:

In this information report you learned about the moon , planets (fun fact) and Saturn’s ring . It is important for us to understand the solar system because we are living in the solar system . You learned three different aspects of our solar system . You can find more information at NASA Kid’s Club.
