Puhinui stream poem

At the Puhinui stream we were on a quest

with bottles and vials we’ll do our best

Standing on the bay we giggle and cheer

scooping up water and our mission is clear

take our vials we scoop and fill

each drop a treasure a citizen scientist’s thrill

Tiny tadpoles swirl some wiggle some glide

we look at them swim with my besties by my side

leaves rustle softly as we walk back

we where a bit behind which was a bit of lack

we hear the water of the stream trickle

As leaves brush against my skin which make me tickle.
