My First Few Days In Kāhu 2024

My first few days in Kāhu have been kind of alright even though I missed my first two weeks of Kāhu last year (when I was a Year 7). I have learn’t not much in the first few days because I have already learn’t it last year but some new changes were made like a dossier is now called “P.A.L” which stands for “Portofolio Of Assements And Learning” but I still use Dossier because it’s stuck in my head.

We also had new sheets in our P.A.L / Dossier which are basically … I have forgot what they are but there for our E-asstles and tests and stuff. There is also a slight (but not major) change in the S.D.L book. It’s a bit bigger which is cool but is harder to put in our P.A.L / Dossier. Our first week in Kāhu was different meaning that we had a timetable to go to where we have to go to and setting up stuff like out drive or naming and taping books.

We also did lantern art for Chinese New Years and this Year is “TheYear Of The Dragon 🐉 ”. We also have slides which are below this text below👇.

And that’s my first few days in Kāhu 2024!!!

Week 6 : Ambury Regional Park

Ambury Regional Park is a farm with lots of animals and the cool part about it is that you can enter in the pens and play with the animals but no pigs ( They are kind of blind and think your hands are sausages. )  We also fed the horses like you’re giving a bunch of flowers or they will eat your hand and it will hurt. There are two trips and they are “The Fibre Trip” and “The Milking Trip”. We went on the fiber one and you can make felt and learn to weave and see sheep getting shorn and lots more! There were two types of pigs: a boar, (male pig) and a sow (female pig).

The boar one looks like this :

And that is what I have to say about ambury regional farm !

Term 4 Week 1 : Athletic’s Day

Term 4 Week 1 : Athletic’s Day

Athletic day is a day that people gather up and do sport stuff and their family and friends cheer them on as they run and throw and jump and much more !!!! The events I did were Long Jump, High Jump, 100 Meters, Shot Put and Discus. My Favorite one was the Long Jump because it was very fun jumping in the sand. When I was in the grandstand me and Quinn were cheering for rimu in the races and we screamed at each other AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA when Rimu came 1st in the races.

AND THAT IS ATHLETIC’S DAY !

Week 6 : Would You Come Face To Face To A Miniature Hippopotamus Or A Giant Cockroach

Hi I’m Kabir and this is what I would rather choose. I would do the Hippo because I actually wanted to kill a creature and see it die in pain and I would not do the Cockroach because it is a disappointment to God’s creatures  race !!!!! Anyway the area I would choose to fight it is the school. Why because I really WANT TO SEE DESTRUCTION IN THE WORLD (SAVAGE MUSIC PLAYS IN THE BACKGROUND AS I SPEAK) AND HUMANITY WILL FALL AND DIE IN MY BLOOD !!!!!!!!!!

Ok I will stop and when it is in the school I will get knives from Kakapo Cafe. I also get stuff to make a barrier to block the hippo while I throw knives at it like The Schools Tv’s, White board Tables, Cabinets and more ! If I didn’t have time to make a barrier then I would just get a ton of knives and ride him like a rodeo cowboy and stab him so he has a hard time moving and trying to kill me.

If I had no time to get anything I would just get chairs and throw it at him and push tables to block his attacks. If he doesn’t come to the school I will then just follow him but he might trick me into falling into a pit and die. If he just destroyed the building I’m in I would commit S_ _ _ _ _ _ . You would be shocked why I would do this and I would do this to not feel the pain at first.

AND THAT IS WHAT ANIMAL I WOULD FIGHT !

Mozambique’s national sport is “Soccer”. They also have a traditional game called “Ntchuva”. is a game for male adults. Two teams are formed with one or more players. The game can be carried out on the floor, digging up four rows of small pits.

Each queue can have 4, 8, 16 or 32 pits. You can also play on a board made of wood or cement. I think I have this Board Game at my house in the Multi – Board Game.

Mozambique is a south-east African country with a long coastline bordering the Indian Ocean. Its neighbors are the United Republic of Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa and Eswatini. It has mountains to the interior.

These fall to coastal hills and plains via a broad plateau. It has beaches, coral reefs and several islands.

The staple food for many Mozambicans is xima (chi-mah), a thick porridge made from maize/corn flour. Cassava and rice are also eaten as staple carbohydrates. All of these are served with sauces of vegetables, meat, beans or fish. These are some traditional foods :

  1. Matapa de Mandioca
  2. Matapa de Siri Siri
  3. Moringa
  4. Badjia
  5. Xima
  6. Mandioca (Cassava)
  7. Nikhotonkoro
  8. Arroz o’loco
  9. Vegetable Curry (Caril de Vegetais)
  10. Frito
  11. Etoritory

Week 3 : Tessellation Art / Water Color Art

Hello My name is Kabir and today I will tell you what Tessellation Art is.

First of all Tessellation is something when a shape or an object repeats in a pattern like you but copied in a straight line. Second You know what art is. We did the art to see how our skills are at Watercolor.

Water color is a type of paint but you need to put water ( not too much ) on the paint. There are 4 different techniques. They are Waterproof Marker, Water resistant, Wet – On – Wet and finally Wet – on – Dry. Most of us did Waterproof marker but some did water resistant.

And That’s what Tessellation Art Is!

Week 2 : Swimming

Hello I’m Kabir and today I will tell you why swimming is good. First of all swimming can save your life if for example you are on a boat when all of a sudden the boat sinks. You can use your skills to swim back to the beach!

Swimming is an essential skill we need for our lives. You can become a lifeguard, a swimming instructor and more! Swimming is fun only when you’re in a pool that’s your size. You can become a celebrity if you participate in competitions and win more and more.

Swimming is an enjoyable activity with people. You can play lots of water games with your friends. I love swimming and playing with people. I play water volleyball with my family at my cousin’s house.

Swimming is good for your Fitness / Health and it doesn’t hurt that bad. Practising your life skills for swimming is fun because you do diving, being on a lifeboat, doing doggy paddle, wearing a life jacket which in my opinion feels comfortable.

And that is why you should do swimming !

Week 1 Term 3: Cross Country

Have you heard of “Cross Country” ? If you haven’t you’ve come to the right place. Cross Country is a day 2for most schools. Everyone comes and they race. What’s the point of this? It’s a fun day for schools and at the garden school when you reach the end there is so much mud and some people jump face forward in.

The garden school does houses for teams. The houses are Rimu, Kauri, Kowhai and Tawa. The houses compete in different ways like Year 0 – 3 do a race around the field in metres. The Year 4 – 6 do a race at Totara Park. Year 7 – 8 do a race around the whole school.

There is 1st to 3rd in every year group. Once you finish the race there is a teacher who will mark your place. You will get a certificate if you make it into 1st, 2nd or 3rd. There are spot prices if you do something amazing in the race. The houses are in a winning position if they have the lowest points. Kowhai won this year. I am mad because Rimu, which is my house, came second!!

And that is what Cross Country is !

Week 6 : What is a hero 🦸

What a hero is 🦸

A hero is someone who does something brave and has integrity. You see them on TV like Tony Stark (Iron Man) or Bruce Banner (Hulk) but I’m not talking about them. I’m talking about real heroes who do stuff and some don’t even get noticed For example “William Apiata” a very brave soldier who carried an injured comrade in intense gunfire from left and right. He also had to cross broken, fiery and rocky. There wasn’t a whole audience watching him in the middle of the desert in Afghanistan🏜️!  He wasn’t noticed before but his brave actions made him a somebody. There are other heroes like your mom or your dad who help you in life so you can help your family when you have kids so you can help them.

Who my hero is and why

My hero is my mum because she helps me with my work, puts food on my plate, cares for me, loves me and in return I give her respect, kindness, help, loyalty and so much more! I have another hero, my dad because he is the one who gave me a roof over my head, how I get food on my plate and how I have clothes.

Everyone can be a hero, even you can be a hero, you just need to act like one. Help others, do stuff for others and maybe just maybe you can be a somebody.

The End
