On the 11th of November 2022 it was Leilani’s 13th birthday.  She was so excited to become a teenager, but when the day came it was her worst but also best nightmare…

Leilani’s best friend’s favourite Aunt had passed.  Kayla (her best friend) wouldn’t talk to Leilani and so Leilani wanted to see if she could help out with anything.  As soon as Leilani got to helping Kayla’s family Kayla sent her a text saying that she didn’t want to be friends anymore and that her help was not needed in her family, soon enough Leilani saw the text and got emotional.

After Leilani saw the text and got emotional she got a call from her Grandpa saying that he & her Grandma had a surprise for her she told him that she wasn’t in the mood but would be at their house in a round 20 minutes since she her mum & dad were at work so they couldn’t drive her there.

Once Leilani was at her Grandparents house she wiped her tears then rang the doorbell.  Her Grandpa opened the door for her, and Leilani took off her shoes and went inside.  When she saw her surprise she was so shocked she was gonna cry!  Her Grandma always knew that she wanted a puppy, specifically a pug because whenever she was home alone she had nothing to do so they decided to get her a pug as a puppy.  

When Leilani’s Grandparents dropped her off at home Leilani grabbed her pug and gave appreciation to her grandparents.  As soon as Leilani got inside she started to think of names for the pug “Hmm would Stacy fit her? No, what about Stormy? No that doesn’t fit her either oh I know! Star perfect!” Leilani decided to name her pug Star.  She wanted to teach Star some tricks but she also wanted to wait for her parents so she did but her parents sent her a text that they wouldn’t come back till Sunday which was 2 days away so she just decided to stay at her grandparents house til her parents came back.
