It was a hot and sunny day, and a group of 8 girls were getting ready to go to Rainbows End. They were all so excited to go on the fearfall except for the few that had acrophobia (Fear of heights). They were all sitting in Malia’s room waiting for her mum to take them to rainbows end, planning what rides they were going to go on first and what food they would get for lunch making sure they would stay on budget. After around 5 minutes Malia’s mum called out to them telling them to come to the car, so they all ran downstairs and out the door then hopped into the car and they were all so excited that the day had finally started… After a 30 minute drive they finally arrived at Rainbows end. They all got out of the car and said bye to Malia’s mum since she was just their use of transport and ran off to get into the theme park. Once they were all in they spun a wheel to pick what ride they would go on first since they couldn’t decide out of log flume, fearfall, or the corkscrew, they all spun it at the same time and hoped it would be one of the ones they chose the first time. After they all spun the wheel it spun around 3 times then landed on bumper carts which they were NOT happy with so they went on the corkscrew anyway not caring about what the wheel said. When they got to the corkscrew roller coaster they were able to go on straight away since the queue only had about 7 people in it – once they were all strapped in, the carts zoomed past everyone waiting in the queue (which was now long) then to the loop-de-loops. They were all getting ready to scream but when they were upside down something suddenly happened… Everyone in the carts got stuck! The people that were fully upside down (green cart) were screaming saying they felt dizzy which most likely meant that their blood was rushing to their head, but then the next second the ride started again but it went so fast that almost everyone started feeling dizzy and one person even fainted! Once the ride came to an end it was closed for maintenance to see what went wrong. Everyone on the ride were all asked if they were okay by the employee operating the ride and the lady that fainted was taken to the hospital because she wouldn’t wake up and also because she was one of the people stuck in the green cart that was stuck upside down. Throughout the day weird things kept on happening and the rides wouldn’t stop closing one by one. Later on Malia and her friends were still at Rainbows end even after what happened, but they were kind of bored so the went to go ride the invader but they were also scared so they went on the scorpion carts first to make them feel a bit at ease before going on to a scarier ride. When they were on the scorpion carts they were all shouting at each other because they were very competitive especially Bronny (one of the girls) – she was the most competitive out of all of them so whenever she lost at something she would make it her mission to beat that person next time. After they finished their race Penny won (one of the girls) so Bronny was a little bit mad but she was fine after they got her cotton candy to cheer her up. All eight girls walked over to the invader all paranoid about what would happen to them on the ride. Penny started feeling sick and refused to go on the ride thinking something would happen to them so she went outside of the queue and watched them get into their seats. Once the ride started Penny’s feeling of something happening was growing bigger and bigger, and soon someone in the queue noticed something wrong… “Wait a second.. the track, it’s broken!” He screeched but the operator didn’t hear him – everyone on the ride started screaming for him to stop but he couldn’t hear them because he had his headphones on listening to music at full blast. The seats started to get higher and higher and everyone on the ride was screaming out of fear, and soon enough the seats went flying off the ride making a ginormous dent in the ground. Everyone that witnessed it fly off were trying to get it out of the ground so the people at the bottom weren’t getting crushed but unfortunately they were unable to do so as the thing the seats were on was extremely heavy. Around 5 minutes later ambulances and the police arrived. They got the seats out of the ground with everyone helping and rushed everyone at the bottom to the hospital and made the people at the top go home and just take a couple of days off from school or work so they could recover from what happened. The theme park has been closed for 13 years now abandoned and rusty. Everywhere you look you will notice that all the rides are vandalised! But make sure you don’t vandalise the property because rumour has it half of the people that have vandalised the park have gone missing over the past few years… |
I like your writing piece. It’s very fun and interesting. I like how you explained what they were gonna do, what ride they were excited to go on. I can’t find anything you need to improve on.
Great piece of writing I love how you gave detail on everything that you wrote, great vocab usage and same for punctuation. There is not really anything bad I can say on keep up the great writing.
great job kalilah. This was an amazing story but maybe next time you could and more detail and i would like some more detail on the 8 girls.
Your writing was detailed.
You added a few brackets to make your story not that complicated to understand and easier for the reader.
A small thing that I noticed is that you made a bit of typos in your story, but besides that I don’t think you have anything to work on! Great job.
Your story was interesting, I liked the way when every ride starts to close and then people noticed that the roller-coaster track was broken and after that incident the theme park was abandoned. Your punctuation was pretty good, you used brackets, commas, fullstops, capital letters and etc correctly. I also can’t find something you can improve on. Fantastic work!

I like how your writing piece is so filled with action, I also appreciate how much detail you put in there. Next time you could work on capitalising proper nouns, such as Rainbows End.
