Ambury Farm

Ambury farm

Wednesday I had a great morning because we were going to the Ambury Regional Park farm to see lots of  things like cows, sheep, ram and chickens and we would learn lots of new things. It was going to be really fun. I am very excited to go and see all the animals.

First we went to the bus. It was very big. The bus came a little bit late but it still came. So when we went there there wasn’t a lot of traffic on the road and on the motorway. It took us 25 minutes to get there. Then finally we got to Ambury farm. We saw a man who led us to the farm. First we were in groups and I was in the goats with Mrs Haywood and Silva. When we went inside the farm we first ate morning tea which was really yummy for me. After morning tea we went for a walk to see some of the animales. First we went to see some of the chickens which were really cute.

After we saw the chickens we went to see the cows which were actually a little bit annoying for me and the others because they were just mooning. But it was quite fun watching them drink their milk which the farmer had given them to drink. Even when the cows were drinking their milk one cow had left her milk and drank others so it was really cute and funny.

I asked Silva if we can go and see the goats and then she said” sure we can. So then we went to see the goats and they were so cute we even saw some of the goats running around which I got a little bit scared but it was really cool watching them run around. After we saw the goats it was time for lunchtime so we went back to the little garden and got out our lunch boxes and ate our lunch. After we ate our lunch we went for an activity which is called carding wool where we were carding the sheeps wool. We had to be in groups and I was a partner with Samarya. We both were carding the wool and after we carded the wool we twisted it around and around and then one of us had to pull it and win it. So it was really fun doing carding.

So after we did the carding we went for another activity which was called felts. It was so fun because first we got three colours which were purple, blue, yellow. We first had to make a burger with the wool and next we put some hot water on the wool and patte it softly. After we patte the wool the lady gave us some soap and hot water. I did not know why we needed it but then something happened! The lady had scared me and Mrs Haywood and others with a huge bang on and felt it was really funny how Mrs Haywood got scared. After we put some hot water and soap on the felt we washed it up and soaked it and there was our felt.

Conclusion

So overall it was a great trip. We had lots of fun at Ambury Regional farm. We learned lots of things about fibre and sheeps and wool. It was really fun. Even my most favourite 2 things that I saw there was a peacock which I loved and the sheep.
