PolyFest Blog – Week 11

Today I will be talking about my experience at PolyFest , Poly Fest is an amazing experience where you can see many cultures and cultural dances. The Dances consisted of many rhythmic moves with delight, each move planed out so beautifully the entire crowd cheered on the dances one after another. Our school loved all the dances we saw that day it was truly an incredible experience If you haven’t been to Poly fest you are missing out on a lot of fun. At PolyFest there are many food stalls and places to eat, sadly we weren’t allowed to buy any food even if we brought money the food does looks very appetising at PolyFest.

Did you know that year 7/8’s are not allowed to compete at PolyFest. I think we should be allowed to perform at PolyFest because we are capable of doing the same level of dances and maybe even better than 9’s 10’s so on. Some students love dancing in our school and they are way more then capable to perform and PolyFest they have moves that I haven’t seen before and that’s a good thing, And those student’s love dancing for there culture and they are really good at it too. So I do think year 7’s and 8’s should be allowed to perform and compete at PolyFest and if that’s not enough information for why we can perform at PolyFest then I don’t know what else you want.

Now back to my experience at PolyFest, we saw three different stages a diversity stage, a stage consisting of many different cultures, and we saw Māori stage the Haka was amazing but the view we has was not the best and I think it was the worst seats we could have we could bearly see the stage but we could hear it because it was very loud. Last but not least we had this stage that i don’t even know what to call it had many different things they did people came up and gave us speech’s and we also did a dance battle for some merchandise. Now that was one amazing opportunity that a person can have And that was my day at PolyFest.
