My Cinquian Poem…

If you’re wondering who this person is, this woman is named, Adelaide Crapesy. she is the woman who invented the Cinquian poem. It was invented back in 1911 which is over 100 years ago. A cinquian poem doesn’t rhyme. Instead it’s focused on the wording placement. You can notice the wording placement going  like, 1,2,3,4, and then back to 1. the first line of the poem represents the title of the poem. so you see my poem is about Adelaide. Next, the second line. That is the adjectives of the poem. The third line of the poem is commonly any type of word that relates to your topic with an ‘ing’ like you see in my poem. Forth line of the poem, will include a four letter quote about it or them. And finally the last, is something that has to do with your title. I hope you understand the meaning behind a poem.

STICKBUG

this is a 3d model of a common and well known kind of insect which is known as a stick bug. they have only 3 stages in their life cycle so unfortunately, it has little time to live life.

1.) EGG STAGE

the eggs are laid by their mother who is at the state of dying since sheis currently near her time. mother lays over 10,00 eggs she will most likely lay her eggs to somewhere with trees and shrubs.

2.) NYMPH

when the egg hatches, it reveals a little tiny stick bug who takes the apperance of, they’re own parents just 10 times smaller. they are a bright, vibrant green and actually eats their own molted self for protection because predators will know that stick bug is somewhere near the molted body. but if the stick bug eats it, predators would never notice.

3.) ADULT

atlas..the final and last stage off the stick insect. now they are are mature and responsible adult. now they can mate and start all over again!

cicadas & wetas

1.) SIMILARITIES & DIFFRENCES

Similarities

a.) they are both a type of insects which means they share the same kingdom! (ANIMALIA)

b.) both cicadas and wetas have exactly 6 legs since they are insects.

c.) in their classification, they both have some things in common. for e.g, their phylum, domain , class and kingdom.

-diffrenences

a.) wetas don’t have the ability to fly while cicadas have a big impact in flying.

b.) wetas are 10 centimetres  and the biggest a cicada is able to be is 2-5 cm. which means wetas are 2x bigger than a cicada.

c.) here in Aotearoa, wetas may commonly be found in grasslands, shrub lands, forests and caves. and cicadas are found in crowded areas like towns and cities.

 2.) habitats

a.) i think cicadas might be unsafe in their habitat and my reason? its becasue towns and cities are big and all, but its to crowded and sometimes even you know it or not, it just might get squashed like a pancake! (a disgusting one.) although it just might have a chance of finishing its 1 year cycle. since they have an ability to fly, they just might have a chance! and plus, its a fly. flies are almost im..POSSIBLE! to catch. see this..you see a common house fly and attempt to swat it or catch it. letting you know its a 99% chance you’ll for sure miss it.

b.) wetas, i think would be safe. they don’t live in crowded areas. just a quiet place to just lay around and do exactly nothing. just a cooling chill place for an insect family to live. and, they’re not the most annoying thing in world history! 🙂

a similar type of insect that matches a cicada is a common fly. my first reasoning is because they are both a type of fly species and in fact, they live in the same areas and also incredibly annoying!

i think the reason cicadas have spiracles but not on the interactive is because since cicadas have different types of cicadas whilst wetas dont. so maybe according to my theory is because one or more types of cicadas do and some just don’t.

This wanted poster is about a certain insect. One that could harm people and other insects. And that insect goes by the name, German wasp. Or other known as, the yellow jacket. The reason why I made this wanted poster about yellow jackets is because they are extremely aggressive to humans, bees, and probably more our there I probably wouldn’t know. Yellow jackets can be grumpy most of the times. The reason is because it’s near the end of their life cycle. If you ever find one of them or even a hive, call for pest control. They’ll take care of it.and one thing i  learnt was that they were called yellow jacket because their skin looks like a yellow jacket.and something that shocked me the most is the fact that they were real. beacause i thought it was just the common wasp and thats it. but anywho,i hope you like my wanted poster!!!

during week two in S.T.E.A.M we learnt about five ways insects help out our world.

our first way is by helping and pollinating our native plants knowing now that it actually attracts insects to the plant that has been pollinated.

The second way that insects help us and earth is decomposing waste. I learnt that DUNG BEETLES bury dung (cause they have the word dung in their name..)which then results as giving nutrients for the soil.

The third way insects help our environment is by controlling our pest populations. fun fact, LADY BUGS actually and surprisingly enjoy eating aphids.

The fourth way they help is by being food source to others. and i learnt that some different insects are really good protein and fat.

and finally, not really all heroes are human. Insects for example are the earths hero. They are inspiring and can adapt to changing our world. it’d be HORRIBLE if we ever lost them.

shih tzu are dogs. or in what the Chinese ancient history called them, ‘little lion’. this name comes from their appearance. they’re appearance is basically a small dog with stubby legs, a small snout and a lot of fur. it goes around its face a little. which makes it look like a lion mane. which is why they were being called ‘little lion’.people also say that the shih ztus had the ability to turn into a lion. sounds odd.. as you know if you read the first sentence, you can see that the Chinese ancient history knew these dogs. they were loyal dogs in those times. Chinese ancient history discovered the shih ztu and called them their own. it belonged to the royal to be more specific. that’s why they’re so expensive these days.

me personally, I love shih ztus. mostly because I own one myself.  and yes, I can confirm. they are unbelievingly loyal. a bit to loyal. but, they do be lazy sometimes. its a good yet bad thing for me cause I can just talk to my shih ztu! I know he won’t respond but stilll. at least I’ll have something to just look at and sit there.. it’s not exiting but at least I’m bored with my doggy. these types of dogs were at the point off getting extinct. CRAAAZZYYY!!! but, it was saved by little of the popularity of shih ztus. just by reproducing. next thing you know, there was a multitude of them! but they’re still rare and need great care. since shih ztus are expensive, someone could just snacth the tiny dog. and that’s hy you need good care of it! shih ztus like alone time but not for to long. after all, they are companion dogs.they’re more likely to develop separation anxiety than some other breeds if left alone for long periods of time. which is VERY bad. so look after your shih ztus if you ever get one. or, if you already have one or more. dogs a great for any type of problems. like for example, maybe you need one for guard..their not as good but they do bite pretty badly. or for depression maybe you just wanna bit o affection form your dog. which is okay since shih ztus for a fact love cuddles. I only researched that cause ni like to show affection to my doggy. but my one is an old man so he hates affection. so sad.. ): but its fine! personally, shih zeus are the best dogs ive ever known. ive had my one since last yr=ear in 2023. he didn’t like me sadly. but that’s to bad!

I really like shih thus for their looks and the fact that they are great companion dogs. I understand why they’re so SO expensive..woukd you want a shih tzu? 🙂
