Do you know how to swim? Well I don’t, that’s why I went to the swimming lessons. These lessons are funded by the John Walker Field Of Dreams Charity . John Walker did this because he decided everyone needs to learn how to swim! John Walker did this function in Manurewa Leisure Pool.
When there was a little bit of time left for our bus we were sent off to eat lunch at 12:10. We had 20 minutes to eat and play. After we were all done eating we all went down there in front of the office. When we got there Mr Wong just left to get us all. When he went there the kids went down to the office Mr Wong was still in central park waiting for us. After that when Mr Wong was looking for us we sent Ethan and a couple of other girls but then Mr Wong came back so did the people we sent.
When we arrived at the pool we first changed. After changing we went in the pool and practiced jumping in the pool slowly. After we were in the pool we practiced making bubbles. First we did it with half of our head in the pool, then we did our whole head. When the coaches knew how good we were at breathing, they made us freestyle to see what we were worst at. There were 3 groups I was put in the first group.
When we started we first practiced our kicking. We were practicing our kicking for a bit until we got good at it. The Coach was perfecting our kicking until we got it perfect. After that we practiced with the board swimming. The board thing was a great exercise for kicking. At the end we did a running race and I came first!
I felt amazing about this day. It was so fun because of all the new things I learnt. Sadly the day had to end. I wanted to carry this day on but we had to go home. These swimming classes were so nice. Especially because I had forgotten how to swim. These lessons told me everything I needed to know to be able to swim.
