A day at Ambury Farm

Have you ever been to an ambury farm? On 15th of November my whole hapori and I went to Ambury farm. Vroom! As the bust started and started going. The whole hapori was super excited. We stayed there for the whole day and we did a lot of fun activities. We learnt about fabrics and we also walked around. It was really fun. Before we did anything we had morning tea. After everyone was done with morning tea we put our bags in the closets. Then two groups got into one big group each. Group 1 and 2 in one group and group 3 and 4 in the other. I was in group 1. Our group name was Jemima.

First we were learning about fabrics and we were going to try and match them with which animal gives the fabric. First we learnt how to jump a gate just in case you needed to. Then we learnt about the fabrics. There were 10 animals and 10 fabrics and we had to figure out which one goes with which. It was a little hard but we got it.

After we were done we went to watch sheep’s get sheared. It smelt terrible but it was really cool. The rams did not want to get sheared; they were bouncing around and kicking but the people were so strong. There were 3 people there, 2 were shaving and 1 was there just in case the ram got too out of hand. After we were done looking at them we had a talk about wool. There is some wool that is worth more than normal wool and some is not valued as much.

When we were done talking we went back to Richard and he told us how to make fabric hard. What we had to do was first spread out the wool and then start rolling it into a really long piece of fabric. After it was ready to be folded we folded it in half and kept rolling. Eventually the fabric got so hard that you couldn’t rip it if you tried.

After our third activity it was lunch time we ate and then we quickly put our bags back. We were getting bored so me and some of my friends started playing tag. It was so fun everyone played. I got in like 5 times. My fast friend got in so I went behind this big rubbish bin. My fast friend is as fast as a cheetah and he destroys me in any race. My friend was trying to get me but he couldn’t. He eventually gave up and chased other people.

For our 4th activity we did felting. It was so fun. First we had to choose 3 colors but there were only 3 colors so it didn’t really matter. Then we stacked them the way we wanted to stack them. But you have to make one straight then parallel then straight again. We first had to soak it and then we rubbed and patted it with dishwashing liquid. It was really fun. We gotta rub it really hard on the lumpy desk. Then the felt was ready to be used. It was in a circle shape and had all 3 of the colors. It was so cool!

After we finished our felts we went on a walk around the farm and we got to look at the lambs, cows, pigs and rabbits. I saw so many animals I can’t even list them. We went into the chicken coop and we saw so many types of birds. We saw a turkey, chicken and geese. We also got to feed the lambs. It was really fun because we got to see bunny’s too. The farm was massive and it was so fun exploring it. Walking around the farm may seem like a boring thing but we got full permission to feed the lambs and other animals. The lambs were so cute. When we were walking we also saw a big black pig and it had escaped! We didn’t know what to do since pigs could easily knock us out. We went to an insect farm and it had cockroaches, ants, wasps and bees. I got scared of the wasps and I wanted to run. But I walked around anyway. People told me that the horses feet were as big as a giant’s foot because I think they were using them to ride and hoe all the farm and patches so they can plant corn and more vegetables.

At the end of the trip I was pretty sad because I didn’t want to leave. The farm was so fun and I wish I could just stay there. We had a lot of fun but we had to leave. I still didn’t see the horses and they sucked but it was ok. I got scared a few times like when I saw the wasps. I saw so many insects and animals. It was really cool. I wanted to feed the pigs but the pigs would eat my hands. At the end of the day the whole hapori had a fun day. It was so fun. Then we went back to school and we played this game where you can only say no or maybe. You can’t shake your head or say yea. Then the bell rang and we all went home. Super fun day.

Let’s have a fun day

At a fun farm

Just to grow up

And see a great barn

Filled with pigs and cows,

and a cat going meow.

Sabertooth tiger and flaming dragon fusion, Sabergon

This week our teacher  told us to make a fusion of 2 animals that are extinct, I fused  a Saber Tooth tiger and a flame dragon. Together it makes a sabergon. A Sabertooth tiger with 2 sharp fangs and a dragon with flame wings. Sabergon can take on any challenge that faces him.

Sabergon looks like a dragon and a sabertooth mix. It’s a sabertooth tiger and dragon wings on a sabertooth tiger. He has flaming wings and he has 2 big fangs. They are really sharp and shred through prey. Their fangs also have flame on them. They are really dangerous.

Sabergon lives in caves and mountains. They live in big dungeons on mountains. They live here because of the dragons part of the DNA wanting to go there. Sabergons mostly fly around mountains and volcanoes. Sabergon can also be seen in the middle of deserts because the Saber Tooth tigers part of the DNA like living in deserts.

Sabergons like eating big animals like desert elephants or lions. They have the ability to be able to hunt these animals because of the strength of the dragon and the Saber Tooth tiger. It’s easy for Sabergons to hunt them. They blow flames out their mouths and then go and bite them. This makes them weakened so the Sabertooth tigers then pick the animal up and drop the animal down so he knows they are dead. Sabergon doesn’t eat many vegetarian things. He will eat dragon fruits and that’s all vegetarian foods he eats.

Sabergons are really good at hunting and they have tons of special abilities like flaming breath and flaming wings. His wings send out fireballs and his flame breath has a max range which is 10km but he can control his range with his mind. He also has a flaming bite which puts the prey on fire when he bites. He’s also invincible to flame.

It’s hard to tame a sabergon. They love eating lions and they think it’s a treat. If you want to tame a Sabergon you have to carefully go and give it a treat. While it’s eating the treat you go and pat him. He will growl a bit but just let him growl. If you pat him for long enough he will start being nice to you. If you only want to interact with him you can get another meat like chicken meat but it has to be a lot because he eats pretty fast.
