The Hobbit of tolkien

Tolkien was a world famous writer best known for his novels “the hobbit” and the “the lord of the rings.” He was born on January 3rd 1892 in BloemFontein south Africa and spent much of his childhood in England.

Tolkien was in war which started in 1914 and ended in 1918. 1916 he was invalided back to England with trench fever. He returned to France in 1918 and served as a staff officer on the western front until the end of war. Tolkien experiences during war influenced his writing particular in “the lord of the rings,” which is a story of war.

Tolkien began writing the hobbit in 1930, when he was 38 years old, as a tale to entertain his four children. The novel took several years to complete and was published in 1937.

Tolkien died in 2 September 1973 from bleeding ulcer and chest infection. Tolkien had a disease that was named trench fever.
