Invasive wasp species

In STEAM we learned about 2 different kinds of invasive wasps and our teacher made us choose one of them to make a wanted poster about it, I chose a common wasp 🐝  and the other wasp was a German wasp. Common wasps are a nuisance for outside activities, Eco systems and human health. Common wasps may be located in upper parts of the South Island and the whole of the North Island, it normally swarms into different areas. They should be returned to Europe and some parts of Asia if you find the wasps then immediately call the Auckland council contact centre to get rid of them!I learned that they came from Europe and parts of Asia and I was surprised that they were not native to New Zealand.

Description:

Plant\Animal:Animal         Aquatic\Terrestrial: Terrestrial

Size:Their size can grow up till 12-14mm

Colour:Black & Yellow

The scientific name for the Common wasp is a vespula vulgaris

The reward for doing all of this is a better New Zealand for native species and humans.
