Term 4 reflection- podcast

It is almost the end of STEAM and I was doing podcasts with Miss wang it was extremely fun and easy I will be answering some questions lets start

What was your favourite task?

My favourite task was making the script because you could choose any type of kaitiakitanga topic to work on and you could fix your work halfway through!

What thing was the hardest?

The hardest thing was probably recording because sometimes the opponent forgot to say what they needed to say and then sometimes people just didn’t want to be recorded.

What was the most important part of your podcast?

The most important part of my podcast was probably related to the type of kaitiakitanga that we are trying to show like my one was about plants or you could say Dahlias. And also using open-ended questions.

What did you learn from the podcast?

I learned quite a lot from the podcast like staying on topic once you start it is kind of hard to go back and change your topic because 1 it will just waste all of your hard work 2 you just waste all of your knowledge that you already learnt.

Some tips for a podcast 

I learned LOADS of things from podcasts here are some tips

1. Try to use open-ended questions so the conversation could go one like Are you human that’s a close-ended question but if you use something like What do you know about pollution they will carry on your sentence.

2. Don’t try to make your podcast short, this one was quite hard for me because I kept on writing on but in the end, I was just explaining the same thing over and over again but try to add a bit extra stuff about it as well like not to much or not to less

3. Use a topic that people can understand like for example if you use a random topic like sausages and bacon it won’t really be about anything but if you use something like daisies (the type of flowers) you can write quite a lot about it.

This week we have started recording our podcasts with a set of open-ended questions, here are some of my questions

1. What do you know about global warming?
2.What do you think will happen in 10 years if people start recycling and taking care of nature
3. What do you know about pollution.
4.what do you already know about kaitiakitanga

What is recycling #1

Pollution is anything that makes the earth dirty like air,land, plastic etc… pollution is really bad for the earth.Next we needed to make question funnels a question funnel is like what is pollution and then your write your way down until you finish the question and then you know pollution is anything that makes the earth dirty. Here are two of my questions funnel

Recycling is when you end up using something and instead of throwing it in the bin make something! Like grab an empty water bottle and a few bottle caps paint then glue them give it a whole entire make over you can say. But if you throw the rubbish in the bin it’s ok but now it will eventually end up into a rubbish pile and then eventually end up in the ocean,

STEAM podcast week 2

STEAM week 1 Podcast

Then we had to make a logo, here is my logothe reason why I chose this specific logo is because I think that this logo really pops out like the sun coming out of the grass looks really pretty and I think it would fit right into kaitiakitanga.

STEAM Week 9

This week we had lots of fun as it is the second last week of school, one of my favourite parts were that we could take our plants home! My plant is now happy resting in the sunlight. Besides all of the fun here are some great ideas to keep your plant healthy and good one of the things you should do is not watering your plant everyday as that would cause your plant to drown number 2. Make sure your plant is mostly in the sun.  3. Make sure you take lots of care of your plant were else of you don’t it will end up dying or something. 4. Make sure to enjoy your yummy plants!

This week and last week we have been learning more on how plants can help us and much more! One of the activities that we had to do was “why is plants  to the environment and why we need plants. For this activity we could publish it how ever we wanted to this is my collage!

 

STEAM Week 5

This week we did an experiment! We put a jumbo celery stick in a cup and added 1/2 a cup of water and  15 drops of red food dye to it, at first it was floppy the leaves were kind of fresh and much more, but it wasn’t that good before. A day later the celery stick was now red! Th  e leaves were crumbling  and it was really cool just staring, at it and also the bottom of the celery stick was RED when you tried touching the bottom of the celery stick your hands got all yucky and red this is a before and after of Tūī 3’s blog.beforeafter
