Term 3 Week 3 blog post

In week three for STEAM we researched the different life cycle patterns observed in marine animals. We found that there are four main categories.

Oviparous – Producing young by means of eggs which are hatched after they have been laid by the parent.

Viviparous- Give birth to live young.

Ovoviviparous – Once the egg hatches, it remains inside the mother for a period of time

Metamorphosis – Change of physical form, structure, or substance

Save our sea turtle

Save our sea turtle.

we made brochure’s about marine life and animals of how to save them and prevent them from being endangered species or extinction marine animals. We chose the marine animal we also know their diet, habitats, and life cycle and we also know their threats, so we know how to prevent them from being extinction marine animals.

Term three week four blog post/week five

Week 4 we looked at the life cycle of sea turtles. We chose a turtle to research from a choice of 7. I chose the leather back sea  Turtle. I chose this turtle because it is the fastest sea turtle in the world. They can go up to 35 kilometres per hour. There also the biggest sea turtle in history they can grow up to 2.7 m (8.9 ft) in large specimens

This week in STEAM we compared the difference between the Sea Turtle and a Shark or a Whale.  We used a compare and contrast chart to write down all the things that we found out that were the same and the things that were different.

STEAM Week 2 – Diving into the Ocean

This week for STEAM we learned about the different ocean zones. I researched and created a labelled diagram of each zone. It had to include a description of the zone’s characteristics, pictures of the animals that live in each zone and a brief description of the zone. There are 5 different zones which include: the sunlight zone (epipelagic), the twilight zone (mesopelagic), the midnight zone (bathypelagic), the abyssal zone (abyssopelagic) and the (hadal) zone (trenches)
