Botanic Gardens:
On Tuesday the 6th of August us Kāhu students went on a trip to the Botanic Gardens for our LAUNCH theme Kaitiakitanga had taken us about twenty minutes to get there and about twenty minutes back.
But once we had arrived to the Botanic Gardens we had to all do a roll call to make sure that everyone was her and that no one was missing after everyone was been marked then our teacher had split us into groups with 10 of less children and a parent helper.
There were about two activities to do the first one was a Scavenger hunt where you had to find flowers, plants, animals etc in alphabetical order and the second activity was where we had to find all the water sources for us to tell what was the plant called we had to scan it with this app called Seek by iNaturalist which identify plants and animals.
After we had all sort of finished with the our first activities then we had to meet up in front of the cafe/reception by 10:30 so that our teacher could tell us where we were going next and so that we could also have something to eat then at 12:00 we had to meet back there again so that we could head back to school in time for lunch and that was the end of it.
Tōtara Park:
On Tuesday the 30th of July us Kāhu students had went on a trip to the Tōtara park for our LAUNCH them Kaitiakitanga which means guardianship of the sky, the sea, and the land.after the second bell had went all the Kāhu’s had to meet up in the hall and our teachers had done our roll from there after everyone was check off then we had got split into groups in our home whānau.
So Kāhu one,two and four had went together and then Kāhu three, five and six went together after everyone was sorted and downloaded the seek app then we were ready to go.Once we arrived we had taken off into our whānau groups and then started our walk of Tōtara park.Around 10:30 we had started to head back for a lunch break and then we had started our second lap around Tōtara park, maybe just around lunch time we had headed back for school so that there was enough time to do some learning and that was the end of our trip.
Difference of Tōtara Park and Botanic gardens:
The difference about the Botanic Gardens and Tōtara Park is that there is heaps of big trees at Tōtara Park, and at the Botanic Gardens there were lots of small flowers growing and there we also lots of different plants from different places,Like there was a section of plants called the Africa Garden which had a lot of some African flowers/plants.
And at Tōtara park there was lots of native plants there and very popular plants to like lavender,Ferns, etc…
And Botanic Gardens had some water features there and some very catchy plants that look very colourful. But my favourite experience was probably the Tōtara park trip,Cause I loved how there were lots of native plants but botanic gardens was very nice as well.

Thank you Heaven-Leigh,For commenting onto my blog.
Hi Paige, great blog! It’s clear about the topic and has information to know know about. One thing you work on is to be careful with your capital letters; there is a sentence where there is no capital letter after the full stop.
Thank you very much Darleen and yes next time I will focus on where to put my capital letters thanks for letting me know.
