My name is Parminder Parhar and I am from India 🇮🇳 in Kāhu 5. Ive made this blog to share about my experience so far in the Kāhu Hāpori. On the first day of my journey as a year 7 student in Kāhu I was super nervous and excited, being a 7 seven student is like being a year 13 student in Highschool being older than everyone except of year eight is unbelievable I just remember when I was a year 3. I knew all the Kāhu teachers so I had no trouble about knowing their name of which teacher is which. It’s been 2 weeks almost 3 in the Kāhu hāpori and so far it’s not that difficult right now but I know that when we’re gonna start having workshops and labs it’s gonna get difficult and stressful. I’m having fun in Kāhu and hope to have fun all year!
So far this year we have learnt how to do things in the Kāhu space such as, setting up a P.A.L, making blogs, setting up our Google drive (That was really frustrating) and much more. I’m super excited to learn more and take on challenges in our learning and hope to learn a lot of things.
This year in the Kāhu we have been applying for jobs! We have to apply for 3 jobs. I have applied for Wet day monitor, Pe shed, and Hall ambassadors. My favourite job is the Wet day monitor because when I was a little kid I’ve always wanted to be a wet day monitor and I hope I get picked for that. Even if I don’t get picked I still have two more really fun and exciting jobs to get picked for so I will be happy to do any of them three.
Tech programmes is something really exciting as a new year 7, I really enjoy doing enviro with Mrs Davies since I’ve been with her in enviro a lot in the past few years, I hope to get enviro for one of my tech groups.
So far right now Kāhu isn’t that hard but I know that soon it will start getting harder and harder. Especially when we’re gonna start having workshops and labs. Luckily I have my favourite teacher the one and only incredible Mrs Vt. (Fun fact my teacher last year) I hope to have a great wonderful year and hope the same for year 8 next year!
I try my hardest to finish my work on time and finish work/homework my teachers give me. I will always try my hardest to keep showing positive learning skills. After I do a worksheet or any work that my teacher gives me I take a photo of it and save it for my S.D.L application for moving up. I was an involved/green band student last year in Tui and am aiming for high goals like I did last year.
