As you heard, he has done a lot for his people so now let’s find out what other great things he has done and what he did to get to being a director.

Paragraph 1 : Early Life & family

Born in Pukerua Bay Porirua on 31 October 1961 was  Peter Jackson. Jackson was the only  child of Bill and Joan Jackson. As he grew up his parents had an early glimpse of his future, so they brought him a 8mm camera and he started making war movies in the backyard  so he could start his journey of being a successful director. As time went on he started developing a love for films. As a child he was thrilled by the adventures he would have inside and outside his house so he called his house an  “adventure playground”. Jackson’s imagination was inspired by a picturesque coastline of cliffs and caves. At a very young age he was engaged with a tv show called Thunder Birds. He started making his first films at his primary school. The name of the school was Pukerua Bay Primary. Jackson was with this teacher in this class named Trevor Shoesmith that he remembered because he was the teacher that he screened his first film with.

Paragraph 2 : achievements

Peter Jackson is a director, producer and also a screenwriter. He has directed over 21 movies in the past year, some of the most hit movies he has directed are The Simpsons, the Lord of Rings, King Kong and The Hobbit. Jackson has been awarded a lot of awards from academy awards. He has won 3 awards from his most recent hit movies. In 1986 Peter Jackson released his first movie he has ever directed which was named BAD TASTE. He  got paid $5000 for his first ever movie, WOW ! Peter Jackson began to become the most popular film maker and a lot of people started to want to make movies with him, his salary was also going up higher and higher. It  reached up to $950,904,589 per year.He was the richest director in Hollywood with a net worth of 1.5 billion dollars according to the internet but in my opinion he is a very successful person. One of the most famous series named the lord of rings was also made by Peter Jackson after making the past 3 series of the movie he got paid $10 million dollars for each season and made a total of $30 million dollars.

Paragraph 3 : interesting facts

At the age of 37 Jackson got  married to a beautiful woman named Fran Walsh who is a New Zealand Writer. He has 2 kids, the oldest is named Billy and he is 29 years old and the youngest child is named Katie and she is 28 years old. He has been awarded three academy awards for the movies the Lord of Rings, the return of the King (2003) and also for the best picture, best director and most important best adapted screenplay. A very cool fact is that he was a role model for himself; he was never trained for being a director; he graduated himself to being successful.Jackson was turned down sadly for a job at kiwi production company at the age of 17, Many years later he bought the company from the money he had made from the First Lord of Rings picture. His mother Joan sadly died three days before the release of the first movie in the trilogy. There was a very special moment of showing the film after her funeral.

Paragraph 4 :  Education & Training

Peter Jackson went to Kapiti College which was run by the government. When he went to school his life was very dull and not exactly fun for him because he didn’t like to contribute to sports events. He was very impatient to graduate and find a job to make money for his film production. When he reached the age of 16 he made a decision to drop out of college and got a job at a photography shop. He learnt a lot about different effects and about how to edit movies and make it more interesting, through trial and error in his non professional films. This means that he has expressed  his real passion for films and he has developed a successful career by learning through practice . He got into the industrial world with his passion and talent, where he gained fame for his unique storytelling and visual style.

Conclusion:

The story of Peter Jackson is  very inspiring and motivating to especially to upcoming movies directors, producers and screenwriters, who are planning to join the industry. One of the biggest lessons that people can surely learn from Jackson’s story is the need for passion, self belief in order for you to succeed in the industry. He believed in himself and what amazing abilities he has and followed his passion to lead him to being a director. Even though he did not show too much enthusiasm in sports he also dropped out of college but he still believed that one day he will be making amazing movies and be one of the best directors. It’s totally clear that Peter Jackson’s legacy will encounter  for the next generations to come. To let them know about a amazing inspiration.

March 26

As the bones gave light, the tiger glared tight.
the door creaked open as a rusty pipe burst.
A dull, deathly pale skin peeking out the rusty log door.
The house wobbles on its elegant chicken legs swaying left and right.

The crows feathers were as black as the pitch black sky.
As the flowers died of thirst.
The thick smoke poisoned the air and painted the surroundings.
As the staircase trembles all the places and is a lifelong journey of stairs that you will never be able to reach the top.

The roof of the hut was so sheikh that the lion would eat it for dinner.
The log fence blunders and collapsed suddenly to the ground
As the trees fade the place gets darker and darker not being able to see

Ambury Farm Trip

It was early in the morning and I was thinking about what I will be doing on the trip today and what I will have to pack for the trip. So I got up, went to the bathroom ,brushed my teeth and had breakfast and quickly packed my bag because I was so excited for the trip. Once I arrived at school everyone had their bags upstairs and the teachers were deciding what group everyone was going to be in.

Finally the bus arrived and everyone got on to the bus in their groups and we finally headed to Ambury Farm. After about 23 minutes we arrived at the farm. At the farm we met two rangers and their names were Janine ( Janine worked for Auckland Council for 20 years + ) and Richard. The Rangers said “you can first eat morning tea and then we will tell you what we will”.

After we ate we went into a room which was named barn inside the barn Richard explained to use all the rules, after the rules we played a game which was called wool fibre. In this game you have to match the animals with their fibre. Then we splitted up into groups. My group went to the shearing first. In shearing they sheard off the wool of sheeps and the place they sheard  of the wool had a very bad pungent smell. When we left the shed where they sheared of the wool ,we stood in a circle  outside and Janine gave us sheared  wool to touch that had a coating of lanolin oil.

Later on, we went into another pungent smelling room. In that room we made a sandwich with felt . First we made our sandwich and then poured hot water over it, and also poured soap over it and then lastly with our palm we rubbed all the sides and there you go your felt sandwich is done. Our final activity with wool was spinning the wool that made clothes, rugs and other stuff.

The last thing we did before we left the farm was a 1 hour walk. On the walk we saw many animals. The first animal we went to see were the baby cows. The baby cows had soft and warm wool. The second animal we went to see was the chickens in the chicken coop. There were also turkeys and geese. After that we saw many other cute and adorable animals.

In my opinion this was an amazing experience at a farm. I loved learning new things about how they shear wool off from sheeps and learning about fibre. The thing i loved the most was the walk and the sandwich felt making.

Kindness

Boom struck lightning in the morning, heavy raining and flooding. Liane was with her parents in the car going to their new house in Hamilton on the bumpy and flooded road. As they were going they heard on the radio that there will be a heavy  flood and thunderstorm  heading to Hamilton. Ohh no! Screamed Liane’s mother what are we going to do? We still have a long way to go. What are we going to do now?

Suddenly a strike of lightning hit the top of their car and Liane’s sister woke up screaming and crying because she hates thunderstorms and said to her sister I am so scared.later on the thunderstorm got worse and worse and the road they were heading  got closed because there was a huge flood, so Liane’s family had to take the longer way and that way was even flooded more than the road that was closed and had lots of thunderstorms striking that side.

What are we going to do now said Liane’s mother. Well there is no other  option but to go this way, said Liane’s dad, “but can’t we go back the way we came”?said Liane’s sister Amelie no siad Liane because we are in the middle of nowhere. So I guess we are going this way.

Ouch!! What was that said Liane? I think we’re stuck. What are we going to do now, said Amlie, where literally stuck in the middle of nowhere? Who will save us? It’s been 45 min and we are still here. Wait, I see someone. Maybe we can ask them for help said Liane’s Mother.

Hi, are you stuck? Do you guys need a lift? Hi there, yes that would be amazing. Ohh by the way my name is Gurleen what’s your name? My name is Marléne. “Nice to meet you’’. “Well why don’t you hop in our car and we will call a mechanic to fix your car”.

Halloween

what is halloween

It is dark and spooky and Halloween is here. People are dressing up and going door to door to ask for candy. But what else do you do in halloween? Sure it might mean you just dress up and go trick or treating, but halloween has been celebrated for over a century on the day of 31 of October.

why is it celebrated

Halloween has its roots in the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain. People wear costumes and light bonfires to ward off spirits like ghosts, goblins and witches and that’s how it is associated with the holiday.

where it first started

Boo I’m back to ask you a question. The question is why is halloween celebrated? People have been celebrating halloween for many centuries and they celebrate it also to wake up the dead.

Conclusion

Overall, I think halloween is amazing while watching a scary movie and eating the candy you collected.

Te Wiki o te Reo Maori

Do you celebrate te reo maori week? Do you know what it is ? Te reo moari is a New Zealand  national week. Throughout this week people celebrate and learn more about it. In this whole week at school we did different fun activities each day. Each week at school we had a word and this week’s word was Kai.

On Rāhina a teacher announced that this week is te reo maori week. This week there will be Patai hidden in this whole school and the people that answer the Patai will get put into a raffle and win a prize, and also each week we have a word and some of the words were like Kia Kaha ( be strong, keep going), morena ( good morning) , rorohiko ( computer) and much more.

On Rāpare at lunchtime there were fun Maori activities to do like how to use poi’s another one was on designing your own bookmark and making cool and fun Maori designs on it. The last one was listening to Māori legendary stories and learning more about maori.

I personally think that this week was awesome because there were fun and enjoyable activities to do and that it was something different to learn and do different activities in maori. My question for you is how did your week go?

I would domesticate …

If you could domesticate an animal, what would it be and why ? Firstly we need to find out what domestication means.  If something is domesticated it means it is something friendly but not deadly. Most animals are domesticated like hamsters and dogs. But animals you find in the wild are not domesticated like tigers and lions – you would have to train them  to be domesticated.

Now that you know the meaning of domesticated, what animal would you domesticate ? You might want to have lions or tigers?  But why would you want a lion or a tiger as a domesticated animal maybe because they are dangerous but you want to be friends with them. Maybe you should think more deeply like a wombat or a Tasmanian devil.

So I thought I might have a domesticated blue-ringed octopus. Because a blue ringed octopus is one of the world’s most venomous marine animals. If this animal bites you it will block nerve signals throughout the body, causing muscle numbness. Other symptoms include nausea, vision loss or blindness, loss of senses and loss of motor skills. I would domesticate this animal because it will keep people safe from its poisoning and it is a glow in the dark animal.

Overall I think it would be pretty cool to have a blue ringed octopus. But there are other animals that can be domesticated so if we go to the first question what animal would you domesticate and why?
