Commonwealth country: Solomon Islands

I’m learning about the Solomon Islands. Their flag has a yellow line going through the middle diagonally. On the left side of the line are 5 stars and the background is a lovely royal blue. On the other side it’s a dark olive green.

Solomon Islands are located in the Pacific Ocean and are northeast of  Australia. Altogether the Solomon Islands have 992 and the capital is Honiara which is located in the largest island, Guadalcanal. During 1000 BC tribes people found these islands and claimed them as their own. One of the most famous places in these islands is Called Mataniko Falls. These falls are 2 stages; they’re only a bit short, not as big as the Angel falls.

There’s another beautiful place called The Marovo Lagoon, it’s located in the New Georgia Islands. It has clear water and lots of coral. There are also lots of amazing resorts. Another famous landmark is the Riba Cave. It has huge rocks hanging from the roof of the cave.

It’s a Commonwealth country because it was settled by the British.  I chose this country because it is in the pacific ocean and it’s near Niue.
