Have you ever been to Bombay Auckland? Well we went there on Wednesday. We went by bus. It wasn’t so bad.
We went to Kimber road, Bombay to plant trees to help stop climate change because trees store carbon dioxide inside and cleanse it to make oxygen. We also planted them so in a few years time we will have a lot more wildlife like birds. When we got there we met up with the farm owners and organiser. The farm owners were Mark, Jocelyn and Rosie {The Dog}. There was another person named Linzi. She was an organiser from trees for survival. There were people from a place that sponsored our school for seeds, but I really can’t remember the name of the place.
Linzi had told us there were approximately 600 native trees to plant. There were kawa kawa, rakau kāpeti {Cabbage tree} and manuka trees. It was steep terrain. There was rough ground and cliff a likes. Every step we took it felt like we were going to topple over like a sausage.
The planting process was quite hard. You had to dig a dog wide enough and deep enough to fit the plant, then you would have to take the plant out of the bag. After you have to put the plant inside of the hole then put the dirt back in the hole. Then you pat the dirt down then tug on it to check if the pukekos couldn’t pull it out. Later after we PLANTED 600 TREES Jocelyn made some lunch. It was chicken nuggets, samosas, cheese and bacon sausages, Gluten free Sausages Cocktail sausages, brownies and CAKE!!! The bus trip at the end was very loud. We had to pull over 3 times, 1 because one of my classmates, Ryan, had a whole nintendo switch, 2 because a boy named Raihaan kept on getting up and the third time because someone was playing on their phone.
Overall my experience at Bombay was amazing. I’m happy I went.
I love this! Very good work Rosery, I like how you used some vocabulary that would make it more interesting. I think you can work on maybe to much punctuation. Other than that I love your recount!
