STEAM week 1. Sir Edmund Hillary

This week in STEAM, we had a super cool activity where we became history detectives!

In small groups, we were given a famous New Zealander to learn about. Some of us had Sir Edmund Hillary, the first man to climb Mount Everest! Others learned about Jean Batten, the amazing pilot who flew all the way across the world. Some of us even explored the life of Ernest Rutherford, the scientist who helped discover atoms!

I worked Miss Pereto to create a timeline. We worked together to find important dates in their lives – like when they were born, when they did something amazing, and when they changed the world. We put all our facts in order to make a giant timeline on a big sheet of paper. It was like building a story of their life!

We turned our paper timelines into awesome digital timelines on Canva. We added pictures, and fun colours.

I learned that Edmond Hillary climbed Mount Everest he was born on 20 July In 1919 And died in 2008. I also learnt that he is on the Five dollar note.

Here is my canva timeline-

STEAM Week 4

This week for STEAM I learned about plants. I watched videos about plants and I’m learning about the parts of a plant. We cut open peas and corns to see the inside. There are 3 parts of a seed. 1. Embryo, 2. Seed coat, 3. Endosperm. Update of my plant growth is on my slide.

Here is my slide for my plant growth: Slide
