Ambury Farm

Have you ever been to Ambury farm? Well on Tuesday 15 November we went to Ambury farm. We went on a bus and the ride was for around 20-30 minutes. Ambury farm was named after Stephen and Joseph Ambury; they started a dairy farm in the early 1800’s. They supplied milk to the people of Auckland by delivering door to door with a horse and cart.

When we arrived there we greeted the workers there. We got in our groups and got ready to go to our first activity. I was in the chickens with Mrs Davies. Our first activity was about matching some fabrics with the pictures.

After that we went to see the shearing. In the shearing shed they were shearing the Ram,s ( Male sheep ), inside the shed there was a terrible smell. The way that they sheared the sheep shocked us. We thought the sheep will be sitting down and they will lightly shear them. We saw them wrestling the sheep actually just wrestling them. They were trying to hold them down so they could properly shear them.

After that we had a little snack and after that we went to felting.

Felting is where you can join pieces of wool into one. We had different colours of wool and we were told how to join them together. First we spread the wool to make it bigger. We stacked one straight and the other side ways. Then we wet the felts and keep on rubbing them with our hands then we put dishwashing liquid on it. We rubbed it even more until it got small then we washed out the felts and we were done. We had lunch after that.

After that we did our last activity, the walk. We saw lots of animals. We saw some sheared sheep, they were probably the ones that we saw getting sheared. We saw lots of chickens, there were geese and turkeys as well. We saw some horses. The breed was called Clydesdale, their feet were big like an elephant’s feet. They were used to pull ploughs in the olden days. We saw a big black pig who had escaped from his pen. We met with the other group later on. One of the groups had seen peacocks and cows but we hadn’t. There were some bunnies as well. There were two white bunnies and one grey one. After the walk we went back to school.

I had a fantastic time at Ambury farm. I recommend you to go there. It is super fun.

Poem

Wood,sticks and twigs.

We went to a farm

And saw cows,chickens and pigs

Cows are grazing on some other ground

The farmers see it and they frown

Ambury farm is very cool

Go and visit but don’t do something silly and be a fool

KINDNESS

On November 13 it is Kindness day. So be kind and don’t bully someone. Well now I will tell you a heart-warming story about kindness.

So there was a man named Joe and he was going through a very tough time. He couldn’t afford his apartment so he got  evicted from the apartment. He didn’t have that much money left to afford another house so he started living on the streets.

Lots of people looked at him weirdly and also stared at him. People made fun of him and also bullied him. When some people passed by they sometimes even kicked him. Some people were kind enough to give him some money.

Then one day some very generous person came by and gave him a free lotto ticket. He thanked them and then he went to the nearest dairy shop to check his lotto. The cashier put the lotto in the scanner and then there was a type of music.

“Congrats” said the cashier, “ you just won 48 million”. After that Joe couldn’t believe that he got that much money, in his mind he thanked the person who gave him the lotto ticket.

Now Joe is very rich; he owns every single expensive car and a huge mansion. He also has lots of clothing brands and companies. Joe also gave the person who gave him a lotto 5 supercars. So remember to be kind on November 13.

Phorrilla

Do you know what a Phorrilla is? Well a Phorilla is a mixture of a gorilla, phenix and Godzilla. It is a creature that we created, you are probably thinking “ What is this dude” well let me explain.

So Phorrilla lives in Cameroon, well actually that’s where it’s been seen the most. Most people have spotted it eating reptiles. Phorrilla eats any type of meat and it can eat any type of reptile but it mostly likes snakes. His favourite fruit is a banana.Phorrilla can also eat humans so be aware!

Phorrilla’s special abilities are that he can breath blue or orange fire out of his mouth and he can light up. So his scales and eyes can light up blue at night and when he gets angry it turns orange as well. His weakness is Ice and water and he is also afraid of them as well. If he goes near a heated place he will be really strong.

There is basically no way to control him unless you hypnotise him. He likes privacy because if everyone crowds him he will attack them. It is the rarest creature to find. So basically you should stay away from it if you find it. You can take a pic but be quick.
