Camp Poem

In the heart of the woods where the tall pines sway,
A gathering of laughter welcomes the day.
With backpacks and blankets, we wander the trail,
Each step filled with stories, where spirits prevail.

The sun breaks through branches, a golden embrace,
As we set up our tents in this magical space.
The crackling campfire ignites with a spark,
Casting shadows of friendship that dance in the dark.

Marshmallows toast over flames, sweet and divine,
While we share ghost stories, sipping on wine.
The stars start to twinkle, a celestial glow,
In this haven of peace, our worries let go.

We sing songs of old, our voices entwined,
Echoing the laughter, the memories we find.
With the moon as our witness, we promise to keep,
The bonds that we’ve forged in the night’s gentle sweep.

As dawn paints the sky with colors anew,
We’ll carry this camp, in our hearts, ever true.
For the trails that we roam and the moments we share,
Are the whispers of camp that linger in air.

The Halo Ring Experiment (Part 1)

Walking into the lab, I was met with an unsettling feeling. Then a cold touch my shoulder, sending a shiver down my spine. I turned around to see three scientists who kindly guided me through the lab, though that feeling never left, clinging to me like an ominous shadow from the unknown.Although I felt that way I continued to follow them though the lab, which was filled with all kinds of testing stations. They led me to a room with a sign that read “HAZARDS DO NOT ENTER,” but all three of them assured me it was nothing serious. So, I opened the door. Bright lights flashed in my eyes, and I saw three pedestals, each with a scientist standing by it. The other items seemed to bore me, so I was about to turn away when I noticed a glint in the corner of my eye. It was a ring.

I turned around and walked closer, unable to stop myself, feeling drawn to the ring. I then looked at one of the scientists, who told me it was called the “Halo Ring.” I was slightly confused by the name. It seemed rather unique for a ring. I thought to myself, “Why would it be in a lab?” The scientist replied, “Well, we’ve been told it has magical abilities.” Surprised, I asked, “What kinds of abilities does it have?” The scientist answered, “We don’t know. That’s why you’re here—to test out the ring’s abilities.” I was taken aback. All I had received was an email a day ago asking me to be part of an experiment that could end badly. Were they insane!?

I quickly replied in a calm voice, “Why would you think I would do this?” The scientist said, “If anything bad happens, we will cover everything. It’s in the contract you signed.” I paused. “Oh, that’s right. I did sign a contract.”

The scientist, wearing gloves, held up the ring. “Well, put it on.” I grabbed the ring hastily, slipped it onto my finger, and looked at it. It was quite pretty, and gold suited me. Suddenly, I felt dizzy, stumbled around, and then collapsed, hitting the ground with a ringing in my ears. I woke up, holding my head while the scientists watched and a nurse in the lab checked on me. I looked at my finger and saw nothing. “Wait, where’s the ring? I just had it on!” The scientist responded, “It fused with your finger…”

My eyes widened. “Fused? Like the ring is in my skin?” The scientist, unperturbed by my outburst, said calmly, “Yes…” I glared at the scientist, angered by his calm response. “I should be fine. I’m not dead. I’m fine!”

The scientist continued, “Actually, the magic of the Halo Ring fused with your blood cells, changing your genetics.” Annoyed and still in denial, I responded, “And how would you know? Ah-ha! You don’t know, do you?” The scientist blinked at me, confused, and pulled out some papers from their pocket, showing them to me. “We took a few blood samples while you were unconscious, and the tests show you have abilities that were thought to be fake.” I looked at the scientist, then at the paper, and snatched it from their hands. The scientist, surprised by my behaviour , said nothing. I asked, “And who said you could take my blood for tests?”

The scientist, surprised that I questioned them about the blood tests rather than the powers I held, responded calmly, “You signed a contract, and it was included.” I paused and then said, “Oh…That’s right. Maybe forget about that question.”

The scientist nodded. To break the silence, I asked, “So, is there anything else I should know?” The scientist, surprised by the question, answered hesitantly, “We don’t know how to remove the ring because it’s fused into blood cells. Removing it is impossible, and if we tried, there would be no survival rate. We don’t have the technology for this.” My eyes widened and my face turned pale. “I know for sure this wasn’t in the contract!”

The scientist simply said, “Until we find out how to remove the ring, we need to see what powers it has given you. Think about the possibilities. I mean, this is amazing; you’re basically a hero like Superman!” The scientist sounded far too happy for my liking. “I’ve never watched Superman,” I said, annoyed by their enthusiasm. The scientist responded, “You’re such a buzzkill.” Annoyed by their response, I replied, “I’m not a buzzkill, thank you very much! I just have a life and don’t waste it on watching some superhuman die at the end.” The scientist, clearly annoyed, said, “Not only are you a buzzkill, but you ruined the movie for me!”

I rolled my eyes, irritated that the only thing they seemed to care about was Superman’s death rather than my predicament. I said, “Just forget about the conversation. I’m leaving.” The scientist, shocked, exclaimed, “What? No! We need to learn what kind of powers you have now!” They sounded desperate, but I just walked out of the lab. As it suddenly started raining, I grabbed my umbrella, opened it, and walked home, kicking a rock. A passing car splashed a puddle, drenching me. I sighed, cold, tired, and angry. What a day, I thought as I entered my house, closed the door behind me, and threw my coat on the ground. My pet cat ran to me, meowing and purring. Her soft fur brushing against my cold hand brightened my day. I patted her and went to the kitchen, opening the fridge to grab leftover soup from the night before and placing it in the microwave. I also grabbed cat food, I put her bowl on the counter, and poured the food into it as she meowed and rubbed against my leg.

I smiled, placed her bowl on the ground, and grabbed my soup from the microwave when it beeped. I walked past the front door but noticed my coat was still on the hook. “Huh, that’s strange,” I said to myself but ignored the thought. I sat on the couch and turned on the television. As I drank my soup, I heard a crash and my cat hissing. “Missy?” I called out. I stood up, set my bowl of soup on the table, and walked toward the kitchen. “Missy?” I entered the kitchen to see her food bowl floating. “What the—” I said. I tapped the bowl, and it dropped to the ground, shattering. “This isn’t good,” I muttered. I rushed to my coat, grabbed my phone out of it, and dialled the scientist’s number, speaking impatiently. “Pick up, come on, pick up!”

The scientist answered, “Hello?” I tried to sound as calm as possible and said, “Hey…so my cat’s food bowl was floating…WHAT’S GOING ON? I know you said I’d get powers, but I didn’t expect this!” I yelled. After a few minutes of silence, they finally responded, “So you have the powe—” I cut them off, “Yes, I do have the powers!”

The scientist, now sounding more serious, responded, “Alright, this is a significant development. It seems like the ring has granted you telekinesis—an ability to move objects with your mind. We need to run more tests to understand the extent of your powers and how to control them.”

I could hardly believe what I was hearing. My mind raced as I thought about the implications of telekinesis. At first, it seemed like a thrilling prospect, but then the reality of the situation began to sink in. I was practically a lab rat with an unpredictable power, and I had no idea how to control it. The scientist continued, “We need to bring you back to the lab for more controlled experiments. This is crucial for understanding how to help you manage these abilities.”

Reluctantly, I agreed to return to the lab, knowing I had no other choice if I wanted to understand and control my new powers. I grabbed my coat and prepared to leave, my mind still spinning with the day’s events. As I stepped outside, I noticed the rain had stopped, and a strange calm seemed to have settled over the city.

Arriving back at the lab, the scientists quickly ushered me into a different room equipped with various monitoring devices. They began explaining how telekinesis works and what tests they planned to conduct. I tried to focus, but my thoughts kept drifting to my cat, Missy, and the mysterious floating food bowl. Was there something more to this power than just telekinesis?

As the tests commenced, I followed the scientist’s instructions to move objects with my mind. To my amazement, I was able to lift and manipulate items with ease. However, a growing sense of unease settled over me as I realized that I was not just testing the limits of my abilities but also participating in a potentially dangerous experiment.

In the midst of these tests, a new scientist entered the room with a grim expression. They pulled the lead scientist aside and whispered something urgently. My curiosity got the better of me, and I strained to overhear their conversation. The words “unexpected side effects” and “urgent containment” caught my attention, and my heart began to race.

The lead scientist returned with a solemn look. “We need to discuss something important,” they said, their voice lacking its previous enthusiasm. “It appears the ring’s magic has more profound effects than we anticipated, and there are serious risks involved. We’ve detected anomalies in your genetic profile that could lead to unforeseen consequences.”

Panic surged through me as I absorbed this new information. “Unforeseen consequences? What does that mean for me?” I demanded. The scientist hesitated before answering, “It means that while you may have gained telekinesis, there could be other latent effects we don’t fully understand yet. We need to keep you under observation and continue our research to prevent any potential dangers.”

Just then, a large monitor in the lab flickered to life, displaying data that made everyone in the room freeze. The screen showed an alarming increase in energy readings and fluctuations in my bio-signals. The new scientist turned to me, their face pale. “This is not good. It seems the powers are affecting you more than we thought. We need to take immediate action to ensure your safety.”

The lead scientist, with a troubled expression, added, “There’s something you should know—this experiment was not entirely as it seemed. We were testing a prototype with known risks, and we deliberately kept some information from you. We needed a test subject, and now that you’ve awakened the full potential of the ring, we’re facing challenges we never anticipated.”

My mind reeled as I processed this revelation. The experiment wasn’t just about gaining superpowers; it was a high-stakes gamble with unknown outcomes. The scientists’ concerns were valid, and I realized that the true nature of the Halo Ring—and its consequences—was far more complex and dangerous than I had ever imagined.

speak up in a cracking and shaky voice, “So I’m just another animal for you scientists to test on!?” The scientist’s eyes widen as they respond, “No, it’s nothing like that! It’s just that you could be a threat simply by holding these powers. We only know you have telekinesis; you could have even greater power, and it could be the end of us… or the future.” They smile and snap their fingers as something hits the back of my head, and everything goes black.

When I wake up, I find myself in a dimly lit room, strapped to a metal chair. The room is filled with strange machinery, blinking lights, and a large window revealing a control room where scientists peer at me with concerned expressions. My head throbs from the blow, but I try to focus. My heart races as I struggle against the restraints, realizing they’re designed to suppress any telekinetic abilities I might have.

A man in a lab coat steps into the room, his face a mask of calm. “I understand this must be unsettling,” he begins, his voice smooth and measured. “But we’re not here to harm you. We’re trying to understand the full extent of your abilities.” He moves closer, and I see the gentle sincerity in his eyes. “The world is changing rapidly, and your powers could be a key to either saving or destroying it. We need to know more to ensure we’re prepared.”

As he speaks, a monitor flickers to life behind him, showing footage of recent global events—natural disasters, political upheavals, and rising tensions among nations. “We’ve been monitoring these occurrences,” he continues, “and they align with a pattern we’ve never seen before. We believe your abilities are linked to these events. If you are indeed a catalyst for these changes, understanding you might help us prevent further chaos.”

My initial fear begins to ebb, replaced by a deep sense of responsibility. “If what you’re saying is true,” I ask, my voice steadier, “then what are you asking me to do?” The scientist pauses, then steps forward, holding out a small, sleek device. “We need you to cooperate with our tests. These are non-invasive and designed to map your abilities. In exchange, we’ll ensure your safety and provide you with information about your own potential.”

I hesitated for a moment, weighing the gravity of the situation. Despite my reluctance, it was clear that cooperating was the only way to regain some semblance of control over my life. “Alright,” I said reluctantly, “I’ll do the tests. But I need to understand what’s happening to me and how to control these powers.”

The scientist nodded with relief and began explaining the procedures. As they attached various sensors and devices to monitor my abilities, I focused on trying to master the newfound telekinesis. With each test, I began to grasp the scope of my power—lifting objects, manipulating them, and even creating force fields. It was exhilarating, but the constant reminder of the potential risks kept me on edge.

Days turned into weeks as I continued the tests. My understanding of my abilities grew, and so did my unease. The more I learned, the more I realized how dangerous the Halo Ring’s magic could be. It wasn’t just about telekinesis; there were unpredictable side effects that made each experiment a gamble. The scientists’ earlier warnings about unforeseen consequences became a constant concern.

Then one day, as I was practising controlling my powers in the lab, the equipment suddenly malfunctioned. Sparks flew, and the room plunged into chaos. The scientists scramble to contain the situation, but amidst the confusion, I felt an overwhelming surge of energy. It seemed like my powers were amplifying uncontrollably.

In the aftermath, as the lab was being repaired and the scientists worked to address the damage, I realised that my journey was far from over. The Halo Ring had given me incredible abilities, but it also came with severe risks. I was no longer just a test subject; I was now an integral part of a much larger story. With a mix of determination and anxiety, I resolved to continue learning about my powers, both for my own safety and to help prevent any potential disasters.

Kindness

When his family lost their home due to financial hardship, Steven’s world was turned upside down. With nowhere else to go, the family moved in to share his aunt’s small apartment.

It broke Steven’s heart to see his mum feeling so helpless, trying to stay strong and brave for her children. Sometimes I would sleep on the floor and mum would sleep on the couch because she was pregnant as I got older. I felt a lot worse when I was mum helpless. It made me feel like I was falling into an endless void.

Until the school started to give me notebooks and pencil things we could not afford as soon as I graduated  college it was the best feeling I have ever felt seeing the look on my mum’s face. It made my world tune right side up.

And I knew if I kept working hard I could help my mum. I just hope I never feel like I’m in a void again. I just feel horrible, just horrible but others helped me. They supported me when I needed help the most and they pulled me out of the void and made me feel better about myself .

Athletics Day 2022

BOOM boom goes to my heart when I take one step on the bus walking to the back of the bus holding my bag aggressively. I sat down next to one of my friends and I closed my eyes for a little bit. It felt like an hour till the bus got to massy park. Kids slowly got out of the bus and said thank you to the bus driver and walked in the stadium where teachers  had set up all the activities. I walked up to the bleachers and found a place to sit at the very top of the stadium where I could see everything.

I looked at my timetable I had long jump in half an hour so I started to eat a little bit of my lunch then my friend Zoe walked up to me and sat down and asked what are doing first  I told her “i’m doing long jump” she said I have shot put then the teacher said year 7 and 8 girls go to shot put please then told me “I will be back soon I have to do shot put now bye” ok .

I tried looking for my other friends but then I had to go to long jump they told me you have to go now I knew that I would get a high score on long jump because in year four I had got in 2nd place and most of the girls were confused how I knew when to jump over the black line and how could make it in the sand the lowest score I got was two point three nine.

Five minutes later the one hundred metre sprint so after 2 groups ran it was me then again my heart went BOOM boom and I felt like I ate butterflies and they were alive and they were flying everywhere I was very scared. 1  2  3 Go I ran as fast as pose a I could to the finish line I ended up comne 4th place and my friends were so happy  for me so I think and then I had lunch and went to the  toilet I got out watched some races and saw my friends win race and was very happy for them.

Then the teachers were telling as the winning house colours IN LAST PLACE WE HAVE GREEN AND SECOND TO LAST IS BLUE KNOW THERE TWO COLOURS LIFTED SO DRUMROLL FOR YELLOW EVER WAS YELLING  AND SCREAMING

YEAH YES LET GO.

Who would I be a clown or a rider in a rodeo

Everyday my favourite  teacher, Miss Griffin asks a question and one of those questions I just loved and I couldn’t stop thinking about it. It said would you rather be a clown in a rodeo or the bull rider?” The clown distracts the bull  so I was thinking and thinking till Miss Griffin showed us a video of the After I watched it I.

knew who I was going to be, the clown the save the rider and you get a lot of money then instead of people killing the bulls you can use the money to save them from death and Release them I know it is really risky and it could lead to death but it’s about trying and I think it could be easy and I would love to try When  I am older.

And if I could I would try being the rider but would still be a clown to try and help you get the fame and money as a bonus you will be on tv and if you were in American and it could be amazing and I wandered what the chraning would be like seeing so of the videos It looks hard but maybe it won’t be to hard .

But what if in a rodeo there were a standpipe of cows and the rider had to stay on the bull and not fall off the bull or the cows move closer and closer till the rider raises a bule fag to show they give up but if they stay on the bull for 8 seconds they win and the clowns are on horse try to bring the cows closer  after 8 seconds the clown run through the standee trying to get to the rider on there horse.
