Week 5 STEAM-TGS weather
TGS weather report
for my weather report I chose to do the temperature of TGS throughout the week. Here is the graph that I made:
Week 4 STEAM – Water cycle
My life as a raindrop:
Firstly I flow through the grate in the dam. The eels and fish that live in the dam can’t get through this. When I enter the treatment plant aluminium sulphate is added to us. This makes the dirt stick together so that it can be removed. When the dirt particles stick together they form a big particle called a floc. The floc and sludge then go to landfill. Then we enter the sand filter where floc, giardia and cryptosporidium are trapped. Further down the pipe chlorine is added to kill the bacteria in us that could make people terribly sick. Lastly fluoride is added to me, so is lime. This lime is added to reduce my acidity.
This is how I get to your house!:
Week 3 STEAM
Activity 1
What did we do?
For this activity we poured some water on the court and traced the outline with chalk. We were doing this to see how long it would take for the water to evaporate.
Where did it go?
The water evaporated into the clouds. This took about 13 mins to happen. Since the court was not flat some of our water ran into the soil. This made it become ground water. Eventually the water would flow into the ocean or some other body of water.
Here are some photos we took during the evaporation process:

Activity 2
For this activity we had to choose a New Zealand mountain or hill. Then we chose a river or stream that ran down the mountain or hill. We then had to find out what ocean the river flows into. I chose Mount Taranaki for my mountain and Stony river for my stream/river. I also added Oaonui stream. Stony river runs into the Tasman sea and Oaonui stream runs into the South Pacific sea as well as the Tasman sea. Here is the drawing I made of it.
