Mrs Siau blog post STEAM 2025

  1. What NZ identity features did we include? I built the pukeko and Hobbiton, Nieve built a blue penguin, the tree, the Tawa tree, and the Kowhai tree and Mahira did the kiwi,  the sky tower and Milford Sound
  2. What did I learn about Aotearoa during this project? I learnt that Aotearoa has a lot of amazing places to visit.
  3. What digital skills did I use? I used skills to help me make it more detailed.
  4. What would I do differently next time? I’d try to make it a bit more realistic.

How well did we work together? We didnt work together because we couldn’t join each others world.

Quantitative (QN) vs Qualitative (QL)

QN means answers in numbers

QL means category data. Answers in words.

Discrete (D) vs Continuous (C)

D means answering in whole numbers and cannot be cut up into smaller parts.

C means answering with numbers that can be cut up and it can have decimals.

Our focus for Term 1 was about Hauora (well-being)

We learnt about Te Whare Tapa Wha. In the Te Whare Tapa Wha that are 4 walls that make it up. They are:

1. TahaTinana – Physical well-being

2. Taha Wairua – Spiritual well-being

3. Taha Hinegaro – Social and Emotional well-being

4. Taha Whanau – Family well-being

For my Taha Tinana, I ran outside and flied kites. This helped me with my fitness.
