Week 8 STEAM – Marine Animal Brochure

In week 8 for STEAM we created a brochure to highlight the conservation of a marine animal. I chose to create mine on a Loggerhead Sea Turtle.

I chose this marine animal because it is endangered and it is important that we do things to help keep it safe, and preserve their environments for the future.

I included diet, threats to the turtle with ways you can help, why it is important to look after our marine animals, the turtle life cycle, fun facts and some websites for getting more information.

I added some illustrations to my brochure to make it eye catching and something someone would want to read!

Here is my conservation brochure:

Week 2 STEAM – Diving into the Ocean

This week for STEAM we learned about the different ocean zones. I researched and created a labelled diagram of each zone. It had to include a description of the zone’s characteristics, pictures of the animals that live in each zone and a brief description of the zone. There are 5 different zones which include: the sunlight zone (epipelagic), the twilight zone (mesopelagic), the midni

ght zone (bathypelagic), the abyssal zone (abyssopelagic) and the hadal zone (trenches).

I learned that there are jellyfish, sea turtles, and dolphins at sun light zone. There are sea cucumbers living at the trenches zone.

Here is the diagram that I drew to show the different zones.
