P.E is a specialised subject that focuses on learning Fundamental Skills with specific sports coaching. Students participate in weekly PE lessons of 45 minutes, taken by the specialist teacher or specialist sports coaches. All P.E lessons are levelled and based on structured Learning Outcomes.
We work alongside Counties Manukau Sport and other outside sport experts and agencies to provide a well-rounded P.E programme across the school.
We have optional weekly ‘Fitness Club’ Sessions for all students, which provide our children with the opportunity to work on their fitness and to develop a lifelong habit of keeping fit and healthy through regular exercise.
Our House Captains run an Inter-House games competition on a regular basis. This encourages team-work, sportsmanship and school spirit – not to mention the bonus of adding points towards winning our much-coveted House Cup!
Every term, Staff and Students (representative teams) go head-to-head in a variety of games for bragging rights over the “We are the Champions” title!
Year 5/6 and 7/8 also attend a range of one day tournament which we go head to head with other school for the MPSSA cup and the CCSA cup. The students are involved in many trials and trainings over the year for the various teams. I really encourage students to come along and try out- who knows what they are capable of until they give it a go 🙂
WE AIM TO HAVE FUN AND GET OUT OF OUR COMFORT ZONES TO TRY OUR BEST FOR TGS!
