Term 3 2020

Week 1 Getting started and  FP Healthcare Mentor Visit

Today we brainstormed some vision ideas for our project and looked at what science we may need to think about to get our project started. This will help us later come up a the scope of what we are going to achieve.

MENTOR VISIT
Oscar and Michael came to visit us and show us some of the cool things they do in their jobs. They showed us the breathing masks they make for premature babies and a very cool hand held  3D Printer that they used to make a model of Michaels head.

Week 2

We spent today working out the vision for our project and thinking about how to involve the community.  We are going to have a community open day and survey our community to find out what people already know and how they might help us.

Week 3   We had a visit from our local scientist Cathy Bebelman

Week 4 – Week 6   Unfortunately we are back in lockdown and have had to postpone our Community Open day.  We will have to do this and our survey in term 4

Week 7  Mrs Bebelman We got to talk and learn about fair testing and variables

Week 8 Scope the project.

Michael and Oscar came and we worked together to make sure we had scoped our project so that we can stay focussed and not get distracted by all the interesting things that could happen.

Our aim is to get water from the roof of Weka up to the gardens and then work out how to get it to the garden beds.

Week 9 We are really lucky and able to go to camp this week on Motutapu Island Camp.
