Once I reached school on a Wednesday morning quite early to go to Polyfest. At school all the year 7/8’s were waiting at the bleachers for the teachers to come. Some people were eating a snack or chatting with their friends.
While we waited there were a few more students piling in till everyone was here. The teachers came out of the out of the building and told everyone to come inside to the the hall.
Once everyone was inside we saw some papers on the ground. Each piece of paper had a group of people’s names on it. The teachers said to get in your groups and a teacher will come to escort you and your group. Once all of the people found their groups Each groups teacher took their group and went outside to the bus.
Finally everyone got in the bus we drove to the Polyfest place and went to the entrance. At the entrance there was a couple of people there to check your bags. They finished checking the bags and we all lined up. There were a lot of schools that had come to see the show and they had all got in lines too. There was a big stage in front of us and one lady standing on it. She started talking about Polyfest and why we do it. Once she finished talking she sent all the schools of in their teacher groups to walk around.
While we were walking around there were a lot of stalls and charities to take a look at and there was also food stalls that made my mouth water. It was quite a short walk so we quickly reached back to the big stage.
Once the lady on the stage told us where to go to see the dances we all left and sat on the grassy ground and watched some dances. It was really nice to see all the performances that the high schoolers put effort in on a nice big stage with a big audience. It was soo cool to hear the high schoolers mention our school after a couple of dances.
Then the teachers took us to the bleachers to have lunch while watching a Kapa Haka dance. Then the teachers counted our groups, walked to the buses and made sure everyone got on and the we went back to school. I honestly think that this was overall a good experience and a fun thing to watch
