There wasn’t much food tonight, which was normal on a cold winter night. Chris was watching the cold flaky snow falling lightly on the rough uneven winter grass. He saw a single flash of lightning, and shortly afterwards bright meteorites were falling from the sky. Chris noticed something strange, the meteorites landed in a curved line heading for a cave.
He decided to ignore it for now and investigate in the morning, then headed for his soft plump bed when another strike of lightning hit very close to his old wooden shack. He decided he would have a quick look outside. He put on his winter jacket and gloves. The moment he stepped outside, the meteorites started to glow. He followed the trail to the cave. He had been in this cave before. He still had all of his old worn down equipment in the cave. It had been like a second home for him.
He went inside the old cave and found something. His rug had boot prints on it, indicating someone had been here. Chris was an expert tracker. He decided to follow the boot prints further into the cave, he hadn’t remembered it going this deep. When he had finally reached the end, he found a campfire, with an old man sitting around it. He decided it would be a good idea to stay unnoticed. Suddenly the old man stood up, And said “I have been expecting you.” In a voice that sounded as rough as the man’s skin.
Chris came out from his hiding place and looked at the old man. He could see him more clearly now. His clothes were worn down, he wore a tan tunic with brown drooping robes on top. He said, “you must take this bow, and continue down the cave.” Chris accepted the offer and took the bow.
Chris ventured down the cave only to find a massive ravine. He looked down the ravine, he saw tons of moss, trees, grass. At the centre of it all, a GIGANTIC tree bearing blue flowers, lush green leaves, and juicy orange* fruit. He watched as large cat-like creatures played in the trees. But none of them touched the Gigantic tree in the centre. Chris climbed down the ravine.
*the colour orange.
The moment he stepped foot on the lush soft moss, the cat-like creatures let off a loud chirping sound. They approached Chris and softly bumped him with their heads, Chris stroked them. They fell over lazily and purred, He stroked them some more and then he felt hungry. He remembered the orange fruit on the tree. He Strolled happily to the tree.
When he touched it, his bow he had received earlier started glowing. He unslung his bow from his shoulder, and selected three arrows, he wasn’t sure why he did this. Suddenly, the tree appeared to split open and revealed a black gas that spilled out of the trunk! The fruit had gone rotten and split. the black gas seemed to have taken the shape of a horse with a rider that was wearing armour, wielding a Lance and shield.
When the rider saw the bow, he and his horse both recoiled. He looked at the bow and noticed that it was glowing. He lifted the bow and knocked an arrow into the string. He drew the bow and aimed! But before he could fire, the rider charged at him with his Lance! The strike sent him flying into the mossy rock wall! He had been knocked unconscious and sent into a coma!
When he woke up he was in a cage hanging above a lava pool. He sat up and remembered everything that had happened. Chris went for his bow but found that his bow and quiver had been taken from him. He realised that the cage was being slowly lowered.
He noticed that the cats were meowing. The cats had been able to recover the bow! One of them picked it up and threw it with excellent accuracy and power. Another threw the quiver with the same level of skill. He caught both of them. He felt a wave of energy flow through him when he caught the bow. He lifted it, nocked an arrow into the string and took aim. He saw the black gas take the form of a tall human as he was twisting the crank that lowered him ever closer to the lava. The cats meowed again, but this time they threw some rope. Chris used tied the rope onto an arrow and sent it flying above the gas.
He swung from the rope whilst nocking another arrow onto the string of his bow. He landed on the rough rock and rolled. He drew his bow and took aim, the gas was so supervised that he fell over. Chris released the arrow! It hit the gas, at first it didn’t do anything! The gas let off a laugh, then Chris fired a volley of arrows at the gas! The arrows made the gas start to glow a pale blue, all of a sudden the gas exploded sending a shockwave of smoke, flames, and rocks!
At the centre of the explosion, Chris saw a glowing orb of pure energy! The ground started to rumble and rocks fell from the roof of the cave! He ran to take cover, but the best he could find was the gigantic tree at the centre of the ravine. After a while the dust settled, then he ventured out of his cover and found that the rocks were slowly disintegrating. He whistled, and the cats came out of cover. And started playing in the trees again.
He travelled back to the old shack in the forest, when he arrived the old man was there, he told him “well done” and then he disintegrated. Chris went to his bed and fell down, he was very tired.
