Queen Elizabeth II became Queen, when her father (King George VII) passed away from a blockage in his heart, Elizabeth was his apprentice, George knowing that he did not have much time left, he sent Elizabeth to South Africa on a diplomatic mission and of course prince Philip the duke of Edinburgh came. Then when Elizabeth and Philip were in a cottage, Philip told Elizabeth that her father had died, when she got back home she looked and was very sad. Then June 2nd 1953, the big day for the new Queen of the United kingdom

1.  Hi I’m Waka,and if I were to go on a mission to Mars, and I was allowed to bring three luxury items I would bring a: super strong wifi router, a PC and a basketball court that comes with a soccer field, soccer ball and basketball.   

The reason I would want to bring a super strong wifi router is because my PC can call my family and friends and I can have a chat with them and show them space, because it will get very lonely in space.

There’s no doubt that I would get bored in a spaceship all alone so I would bring the PC so i’m not bored and i can watch Netflix, Disney +  and Youtube and when I don’t feel like watching stuff I can play my favorite games like: Minecraft, roblox and fortnite.

If I’m bored and I don’t feel like gaming I can play basketball and soccer because exercise is very important when you’re in space and it’d be fun too.

On May 3, 1494, Christopher Columbus sighted the island of Jamaica. Spanish colonists settled on the island fifteen years later, when the British landed on the soar of Jamaica they made a treaty with the maroons ( which is a place in Jamaica, ) because they had: coffee, cocoa, ginger, cotton, cattle, hogs and goats. For the rest of the country 60,000 out of  300,000 got enslaved and were focused to harvest sugar because back then sugar was worth a lot. The Baptist War, also known as the Sam Sharp Rebellion, the war lasted 10 days starting on December 25th 1831 and ending January 4th 1832. But unfortunately the Slaves were defeated do to the British having more men and guns. But in 1962 Jamaica gained independence from Britain and that is why Jamaica is part of the Commonwealth games.

Tessellation art is when you draw a pattern all across the paper and it is symmetrical like : squares, triangles and hexagons. This week we didn’t just draw the tessellation art but after we drew the art we got to watercolor them. In the previous weeks of Term 3 lots of us were practicing with watercolors and their techniques and the tessellation was not so easy. It took me two tries.

Tessellation is a symmetrical pattern with repeating shapes with no gaping and no overlapping.

There was a video that we had to watch and it was about making a pattern and tessellation.

I thought it was hard but very fun in the end. When I saw Thomas’s work I thought it was funny and cute, because Thomas made a pattern of triangles and he coloured it in so it looked like a cat having a walk. 

Hi my name is Waka and I will explain why Swimming is great for you. For four different reasons like it can be enjoyable, good for your health and fitness, you can be in a team and make friendships and in the next four paragraphs. 

Swimming is a crucial thing to learn in life and I feel like everyone should do it and it’s a very fun thing to do but if you don’t know how to swim something like this could happen to you. Like imagine if you were fishing on a boat and you fell out of the boat and you didn’t have a life jacket you would have drowned, but even if you had a life jacket you would and you didn’t know how to swim you wouldn’t get anywhere.

The day had finally come. It was cross country, I was so excited for the Piwakawaka run when I was waiting with my friends. First the Kotuku raced, then the Tui’s and then finally it was the Piwakawaka race. as I walked to the starting line with all the other Piwakawaka I was determined to come at least top 10 for my first cross country.
Then bang everyone was running really fast but I managed to keep up then the fast separated from the slow and everyone started jogging. There was a long road and at the end of it was a steep hill going down, and at this point I was starting to get a bad stitch and as I was running down the hill my feet started to feel like they were on fire. My friend Manveer started to comfort me as my feet cooled down. When we both got down the hill me and Manveer started jogging again. Some of the teachers nearby started cheering us on the last hill leading us to the field where the finish line was. Then I slowed down a little bit then Manveer carried on, when I stopped for a breather Almaan was right next to me and we ran up to the field and I had an opportunity to run to the finish line and came 11th.

My definition of a hero.

A hero doesn’t need to have superpowers or have cool gadgets, but I think a hero is someone that you look up to and that inspires you to do good things and show integrity. What I think makes a good hero is someone that is kind, brave and helps people when they need it.

 Who is your hero and why? 

My heroes are my Mom and Dad. The reason my Mom and Dad are my heroes is because they work so hard to put a roof over me and my brother’s head, and my mom and dad mean the world to me. 

Once a decade nuclear power would be transported to the device and power it, whitch also means that. It might  have a live camera so people can look at earth and space. Or instead of nuclear power maybe solar panels facing the sun as an alternative to nuclear power. Along with power we need plasma so the machine doesn’t freeze, so I suggest that we put a plasma generator on top so there is a pipe connecting the plasma generator to the actual plasma saving earth from incoming asteroids. My intention is that the plasma shield melts/burns the incoming asteroid before it enters earth’s atmosphere or hits earth.

Eclipse is a crazy and enthusiastic researcher with a bit of an anxious side when she is around people,  but there is nothing that she loves more than skateboarding down craters and she knows all the best tricks like Kickflips, Tick turn, Tic-Tac and the Boardslide and many more. 

She has a double PHD in scientific marine biology and zoology, she is studying astronomy because she has suddenly has an interest in the stars and planets, and wishes to travel to a new planets someday.
