In Kahu we went on two trips, one to Totāra park and one to Botanical gardens so I am going to explain the differences and the similarities to each other. Before I get into that, did you know that Botanical Gardens and Totāra park are actually linked together, there is a way to get from the Gardens to Totāra and I find that really cool, sadly I wasn’t at the Totara trip but this is the experience I have from being at Totara before.
Now on to what they have in common. What these two places have in common is everywhere you walk there are a lot of trees and a lot of normal nature which is very good. The differences I saw is that Totāra looks more like a jungle the deeper you walk into it and it doesn’t have a cafe like botanic and Totara has a pool in their area.
When we went to botanic gardens we had split into different groups and in those groups we had two activities to do, one of them was a scavenger hunt and we had to find plants beginning with the letter A-Z. The other activity was a walk to the storm water stream and the walk there is very long but all though I had a lot of fun goi no on that walk.
Another fun fact is the Puhinui stream at Totara is actually linked with botanic gardens but it’s not just botanic, it goes through all the way to Manukau harbour which I find is really cool. During these trips I had a very fun experience and I think you guys should definitely go visit these two places.
We also had a theme about kaitiakitanga. Kaitiakitanga means guardianship or management I think we show guardianship in these areas because some students go to these places and plant trees so that the places can keep growing. It is also a chance for us to learn.
This is one of the best blogs I seen.

Great blog couldn’t really say anything bad about it but amazing organisation.
Nice blog Xavier. I think you could add better more complex vocabulary but otherwise it’s an awesome blog.
