What is kaitiakitanga?

Kaitiakitanga is a māori word meaning guardianship of the earth.

Why is it important?

Kaitiakitanga is important for our earth and our environment to help reserve our beautiful planet and its animals, sustenance, resources and beauty.

How can you and I show kaitiakitanga?

We can show kaitiakitanga by recycling, conserving our resources,  composting, Saving our electricity and so much more to help mother earth’s beauty

Acrostic poem

What is an acrostic poem?

An acrostic poem is a type of poetry that goes vertically down each letter starting a sentence eventually spelling out a word.

How do you write an acrostic poem?

  1. Firstly you choose a word that your whole poem will be based on it could be and object, animal, myth or human
  2. You start your sentence with the first letter of your word eventually spelling it out!

Cinquain (sin-cane)

How to write a cinquain

The first line you write a singular word which would be the title of your cinquain poem. For example, blogs. The second line you are going to write two describing words. For example, information, assessable. The third line you are going to write three words that are usually ending with an  “ing”. For example informing, knowing, entertaining. The next line should be a phrase with four words. For example “Its a life style”. And lastly it should end with one synonym. For example “Journal”

Example :
